Publisher's summary

Stephanie Cole, Benedict Cumberbatch & Roger Allam star in the fourth series of the hit sitcom about the tiny charter airline for whom no job is too small, but many, many jobs are too difficult. By John Finnemore (The News Quiz, Mitchell & Webb).

Run by the forbidding divorcée Carolyn Knapp-Shappey (an unfortunate marriage, namewise, but in Carolyn's opinion, marginally better than Carolyn Shappey-Knapp), her two pilots are the smooth, experienced and almost-certainly-fired-by-a-big-airline-for-all-round naughtiness Douglas, and struggling almost-competent pilot and sweaty man Martin.

All-round help is provided by Carolyn's near-idiot son, Arthur...

Laugh out loud

The series as a whole is a gem of British laugh out loud humour. This season in particular is notable for ending with a cliff hanger with all letters of the alphabet used. The actors, all of whom are major stars in their own right, have a rapport and timing worthy of all the awards they and this series have garnered. MJN airline has it all...16 seats rarely all occupied ...unless you count the possibilities of Otters on board...a steward who is absolutely brilliant at playing Yellow Car, two pilots whose conversations are a hoot and an owner who does her best to keep it all under control (good luck with that). A highly addictive series. The world needs more of this.

Fizz, Buzz, Have a Banana!

I've immensely enjoyed hearing the adventures of MJN airlines through Audible. I began this series because of Benedict Cumberbatch and now I listen for all of the characters. I highly recommend this charming series for anyone with a funny bone and who likes English humor.

the best yet!

If you're considering buying this you're probably already a fan, right? I'll just say that this season contains two episodes (Vaduz and Wokingham) with plot lines that fans absolutely yearned for. Other highlights include another Birling Day, Douglas sincerely calling Martin a genius, Herc and Carolyn at the beach, some new twists on Yellow Car, everyone spends the night sleeping on Gertie... The whole season is basically a nonstop highlight reel, actually.

This radio series is brilliant

Buy this audiobook. Buy it now. Buy it fast. You'll laugh until you're sore in the stomach listening to the adventures of MJN air, Britain's least competent but most endearing airline. This is British radio humour at its very best, and it has Benedict Cumberbatch in the cast (as Captain Martin Crieff)! The entire series is excellent - there's not a dud episode among them. I cannot wait for more episodes so come, and have listened to these ones many times and they just keep staying funny. This is a future classic, destined for the comedy hall of fame.

The worst thing about CP

is the existencial crisis that arrives when you've finished the show. The overall 'now what?' of the rest of your days is sort of baffeling. You probably wouldn't have expected that from a radio show. I sure didn't.

I adored the characters and their development. Even forgot that it was a listening only medium, for my imagination filled in the visuals. As far as I've talked to people about it, it is the same for them. Stunning storytelling and acting.

If you're down, and need a pick-me-up, Cabin Pressure could very well, be it for you.

Great performance but far too silly for my taste

STORY (comedy) - Cabin Pressure is apparently a British radio show about a zany private airline crew. I didn't count, but there were maybe five short episodes in this audiobook. The characters are likeable and some of the situations are clever and made me chuckle, but for the most part I was only moderately entertained.

PERFORMANCE - This series is done by a wonderful professional cast, all with British accents and distinguishable voices. It sounds much like watching a sitcom, complete with a live audience and lots of great sound effects. Five-star performance, for sure.

OVERALL - This series is apparently popular and highly rated but not my cup of tea. If you like British humor, you probably should check it out. It's very "clean" with no sexual references, violence or bad language.

Brilliant!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Cabin Pressure: The Complete Series 4?

I pretty much adored Arthur's use of the intercom at the Kilkenny airport--by the time he concluded with "love, the airport" I was practically choking on laughter. However, the cliffhanger at the end of the Yverdon episode is probably the most painful/exciting/happy/sad moments in the entire run of the show.

Have you listened to any of AudioGO Ltd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to all four series of Cabin Pressure, and this may be might favorite so far. John Finnemore's performance as Arthur has caused me to develop a crazy love for the hapless steward. Benedict Cumberbatch is fantastic as Martin, the awkward and luckless Supreme Commander. Douglas, who is just as self-indulgent and clever as always actually seems to have learned to relate to others a little better this series--and Roger Allan delivers each line with just the perfect amount of condescension suavity .

Any additional comments?

Cabin Pressure has introduced me to the wonderful talent of John Finnemore, who is just a brilliant comedian. His other radio show, John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme, has a lot of the same flair for the ridiculous, so if you are looking for something similar to Cabin Pressure... (I couldn't get enough, so I pretty much HAD to go find something to help me get my fill)
