Interesting true accounts.

I enjoyed listening to this book with my nearly 7 year old son. We live in Alaska where bears and other dangerous wildlife are real concerns, so I make it a point to impress upon him the necessity of vigilance with these animals. Some of the stories in this book certainly helped bring these warnings to life.

Despite this healthy respect, however, my son loves animals more than anything, and there were also many more lighthearted tales here to entertain and interest him. Plenty interesting for an adult, as well!

The narration was excellent, and fit perfectly.

I received a copy of this book free from the author, publisher or narrator and have voluntarily left this review. This did not affect the thoughts and opinions I have expressed.

Interesting but disjointed

This book about animals in Yellowstone seems to be composed of a series of short reports on animal behavior from four or five people. The chapters, organized by animal, tend to be repetitious, especially the first chapter on bears. Still, it's an interesting read, especially if you are a hiker looking for information on animal behavior around humans. My main complaint is that it needs a good editor.

Animal Personalities, the Majesty of Yellowstone

If you could sum up Dangerous Beauty in three words, what would they be?

Yellowstone Life Cycles

What did you like best about this story?

The stories of life in Yellowstone National Park. The personalities of the bears and other animals, the interaction of Nature, Wildlife, the Park Service and visitors. Makes me want to be there too!

Which scene was your favorite?

The first story of Scarface, then the discovery of familial connections!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me appreciate our National Parks, and how lucky we are to have them. And our obligation to preserve them for generations to come.

Any additional comments?

In my opinion, this Audible work is worth the credit and my listening time. It is certainly worth many relistenings!

Thanks for the opportunity to listen and offer my opinions on this work! A review copy was gifted to me at no charge. In return, I am happy to provide an honest review. Also at no charge.

Collection of stories from the mentally unstable

This book is full of stories from people who have nothing to do in life other spend their summer than driving out to Yellowstone on a daily basis and believing that animals are now their family. There's a couple of stories from park rangers, I'm not talking about them, but I'm talking about the weirdos who have nothing else to do with their life other than harass park animals and dot over them like they were their children -- it's pretty sad.

Here's some things I learned from the book...

Video games are bad.
Asian people are compliant.
Bears and all animals are good.

There you go.

If this book was done again with ONLY park rangers then it would have a lot more value, but these nutjobs stopping on the side of the road and putting up cones to block other drivers, they're just sad, lonely, depressed, nutjobs.

Flora And Fauna Of Some Of The National Parks

My first introduction to the bear books was 'The Bear In The Back Seat' by Kim DeLozier. It was similar to this as it was experiences of park rangers, but I thought it was far funnier. This was good, but a bit stiff for my taste to be in the comedy section.

What a wonderful book 5+

Would you consider the audio edition of Dangerous Beauty to be better than the print version?

The audio version of the book inflects emotion to the stories which a text based book cannot

What other book might you compare Dangerous Beauty to and why?

It is a group of stories about the Yellowstone area as seen through the eyes of a wildlife photographer . So books that cover that are not all that common. Some might be John Muirs books, or All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot and his love of animals and their personalities

Which character – as performed by Eric Martin – was your favorite?

Old scarface. It was touching about a Grizzly that was aging and having a difficult time getting about. We can all relate to that sooner or later

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The other visitors and residents of Yellowstone NP

Any additional comments?

A wonderful book I really enjoyed. Animals have personalities and they were captured very well in this book. A must if your visiting the park or any large wildlife park to understand the residents better.

If I could have given 6 stars for story I would have. If you love animals, the outdoors are a photographer , hiker its a joy to listen to the stories.

I was given this book to review. The opinions are my own and honest; what I like or don't like are my true feelings

👎🏽👎🏽

I am a hunter and I can’t tolerate people who think you can’t shoot a animal. Otherwise it’s interesting.

Great book

I guess for those of us who alredy know how dangerous wild animals can be and also have a healthy respect for them and want only their best it can get a little tiresome to red a book where you feel constantly lectured on these points. I do understand that some people need to be told repeatedly. Aside from this I found the book very entertaining and informative and extremely interesting.

Ready For Your Roadtrip

Delightfully entertaining. Great for a roadtrip and it is a great reminder that our National Parks are still wild places. Great stories and I enjoyed the narration as well.

interesting and educational

Where does Dangerous Beauty rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Well, it may not rank at the top like a riveting novel, but definitely a great listen for anyone interested in wildlife.

What did you like best about this story?

The true stories of encounters with bears.

What does Eric Martin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The feel that you are really there experiencing it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Don't forget there is real danger in getting up-close and personal with wildlife.

Any additional comments?

It would have been nice if there could have been at least 2 narrators to go back and forth between, just because all the stories were not by the same author.
