Publisher's summary
Casanova…Don Juan…Charlie McCarthy? Ventriloquist Edgar Bergen achieved stardom playing both straight man and comedian with his wooden alter ego Charlie McCarthy. The Charlie McCarthy Show was one of radio's top-rated shows for nearly two decades. Button down and bow-tied, the gentlemanly Bergen would never behave improperly with a lady. Charlie, on the other hand, is frisky, flirtatious, and brave enough to bring his game to guests Bette Davis and Hedy Lamarr, among others. His love of the ladies leads him to many an entertaining exchange. Joined by a bevy of beauties (including Lana Turner, Judy Garland, Dorothy Lamour and more) and a bunch of boys (including Abbott and Costello, W. C. Fields, and Mickey Rooney), Edgar Bergen and his provocative puppet star in 16 digitally restored and remastered episodes.
Episodes include: Guest: Sonja Henie 06-27-37, Guest: Ida Lupino 09-05-37, Guest: Bette Davis 09-12-37, Guest: Maureen O' Sullivan 01-29-39, Guest: Hedy Lamarr (a.k.a. Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. Story
Hilarious, fascinating, and a roller coaster of dizzying, historical what-ifs, Napoleon's Hemorrhoids is a potpourri for serious historians and casual history buffs. In one of Phil Mason's many revelations, you'll learn that Communist jets were two minutes away from opening fire on American planes during the Cuban missile crisis, when they had to turn back as they were running out of fuel. You'll discover that before the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon's painful hemorrhoids prevented him from mounting his horse to survey the battlefield.

Full of laughs for everybody
Who doesn’t love Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy.? Even though you can’t see them, they’re just as funny on radio as they were in person. The jokes are still as witty and humorous today as they wereBack in the 40s in the 50s

This recoding is a lie.
Don't buy this audio. This is audio is supposed to have Bergen and McCarthy on it. It doesn't, what it has on it is Another radio show on it. Bergen and McCarthy are only on the last 2 hours of Nine hours that are on the audio. Rip off.
