Publisher's Summary

Orson Welles' dramatic anthology series Mercury Theatre on the Air, infamous for its Halloween broadcast of The War of the Worlds, found a sponsor and became Campbell Playhouse in December 1938. The program continued to feature the charismatic and fiery Welles as both a host and an actor. Fun dramatization

This was great to listen to in the car on the long road trip to the relative's house on Christmas.

Lionel Barrymore Brings this Tale to Life

This Campbell Playhouse presentation of A Christmas Carol is one of the best renditions of the classic. Though this is only a 55 minute production they hit all the important scenes. I do wish it was longer only for the reason of how much I love the actors. Worth every cent and a good listen during the Christmas Season or any other time of the year.

A Christmas Carol Full of Warmth from Times Past

We adore this version of a Christmas Carol. It actually sounds like times past & immediately one is transported into Dickens world. If you like the old atmosphere at Christmas, then this is for you.
