Publisher's Summary

If you want to have fun learning about presidential campaigns, this book is for you. It is an easy-to-hear romp through every one of them, from Washington to Trump. Deadly accurate, personal, and remarkably incisive - entertaining for fans and historians alike. Each election story is retold with a deft blend of clarity, humor, and accuracy. Every presidential contest includes a summary of the election itself and a Hot Vote between the candidates, in a style so easy to understand, it seems like history is a basketball game. Don't worry, though: after this listen, you'll know more about our election history than anybody else.
Oh, the things you'll learn:
"Washington figured being president wouldn't totally suck. Turns out he was wrong. It totally sucked."
"The smear parts of the campaign were pretty traditional. The Democrats called Grant a stupid drunk, even though there is no evidence that he was stupid."
"Donald Trump was not good-looking enough to be president. He was not the color of a person. I know people come in all sorts of colors, but orange is not one of the colors."

Critic Reviews

"...the author seems to be on-target in terms of his assessments of the candidates (JFK was pretty dreamy, I certainly give him that)..." — Lisa Petrison
"I really enjoyed the story settings and can see that even as over the years, politicians still seem to revert to mud-slinging and grandstanding.... Maybe it's humor I need, rather than worry, when I observe the absurdities of American politics. Good job on the book. Thank you."
"I thoroughly enjoyed this well-researched and well-written fun, tongue-in-cheek look at US presidential elections." — Amy Reece

Well written with crisp humor and great research

Very well written (and read) with crisp human and great research. Even though the best-looking always wins, sometimes I guess, over the past 200+ years, that would mean the least ugly of the two. However, when there is clearly a distinction of one visually appealing candidate over a blah one—they best-looking one easily wins! I really enjoyed the story settings and can see that even as over the years, politicians still seem to revert to mud-slinging and grandstanding. It would be great to see each chapter reflected in bio-series on some history or learning channel—humor included. Maybe it’s humor I need, rather than worry, when I observe the absurdities of American politics. Good job on the book. Thank you.
