Publisher's Summary

The complete basis for understanding sexual abuse.
Since it is all over the media and the horrific stories echo through our empathetic ears, it is almost mandatory for any caring civilian in society to understand at least some basics when it comes to sexual abuse. The facts are out there, and it is really happening to people in secret and sometimes without hiding anything. In this book, you will learn to grasp the reality of this sad phenomenon in society. You will hear such things as:

Which acts fall under "sexual abuse" and how they violate a person's right to consent with such acts.
How sexual abuse can have a negative impact on a person's self-esteem, sexuality, and relationships.
Legal facts and opinions about reporting sexual abuse.
The problems with recognizing and acknowledging moments when it might be happening, and why it sometimes goes on for such a long time.
Effective ways to accelerate the healing process.
Things you can do to help yourself and others.

Curious yet? Then don't wait and start listening. I will see you in the first chapter!

I have to keep putting this down.

Ok. So it's hard for me to review this book because I need to listen it. It's hard though to listen through even though it is helping me. Some of it causes me nightmares so I can't hear before bedtime and with kids, that seems like my only free time. I'm working through the book and it certainly is helpful to read other people's courageous stories. I'm grateful the book is here for me to hear, just having a hard time facing my own demons I guess. I would recommend to anyone who I feel could benefit from it.

It's been very informative and it will..

Would you consider the audio edition of Sexual Abuse to be better than the print version?

The audio version was good than print...

What about Denise L. Fountain’s performance did you like?

Great performance...
well explained...

Any additional comments?

I have really enjoyed it, it opens your mind up and helps you realize you're not alone. Some of it resonated with me to a tea, but there were somethings in it that I just didn't feel comfortable doing. Other than that I have enjoyed it with the companion workbook and have stretched and grown in ways I have never thought possible. I still have a ways to go, but I notice as I continue to progress it does get easier. But there are days when you wonder if it will ever end, but it does, you just have to keep at it.
