Critic Reviews

"Reads like a classic thriller, with an everyman hero alone and in danger in a hostile foreign city...but it’s all true, and it’s a story that needs to be told." (Lee Child)

Reads like a Crime Thriller

Reads like a Crime Thriller but sadly is true. An important book of the times.

Excellent book

I loved this book. It reads like a thriller and it reinforces the belief that fact can be stranger than fiction. Before reading this I knew that Russia was a dangerous place to do business but I had no idea how deeply corrupt the government remains to this day.

Reads like a crime thriller

This book reads as if was a fictional crime novel but it's one of the hardest hitting pieces of non-fiction you'll ever read (listen to). The stories of corruption and personal accounts of those fighting it are so moving it brings tears to the eyes.

Super intriguing story

Such an amazing story. I have no words to describe the selfishness of the corruption in Russia.

Outstanding!

What an incredible and amazing true story! Truly a must read/listen! Plenty of jaw-dropping and on the edge of the seat moments. The story gets better and better, all the way to the last sentence. Wow!
