Very much enjoyed the book. I am definitely recommending this to friends. Narrator did a good job. I ended the book with several more counterpoints to opponents to the conclusions presented in this book.
The chapters of the audio book seem to not align with the chapters in the book. This is going to make navigating within the book unnecessarily difficult until I can take the time to bookmark everything in a useful manner.
While Lott's data is compelling, even more interesting are the critics he cites. The consensus of the critics are of a consistent theme: Our calculations of the data show much less reduction in crime than Lott claims, so don't believe Lott. I am left with the impression that there are members of the research community that think a 1% or 2% reduction things like murder and rape are bad things. If passing shall issue laws will result in only a 1% reduction in rape and murder, I think we should do it at the federal level.
