In the fallout of the Russian hacking of the Democratic National Committee - and as chaos threatened to consume the party's convention - Democrats turned to a familiar figure to right the ship: Donna Brazile. Known to millions from her frequent TV appearances, she was no stranger to high stakes and dirty opponents, and the longtime Democratic strategist had a reputation in Washington as a one-stop shop for fixing sticky problems.
What Brazile found at the DNC was unlike anything she had experienced before - and much worse than is commonly known. The party was beset by infighting, scandal, and hubris while reeling from a brazen and wholly unprecedented attempt by a foreign power to influence the presidential election. Plus, its candidate, Hillary Clinton, faced an opponent who broke every rule in the political playbook.
Packed with never-before-reported revelations about what went down in 2016, Hacks is equal parts campaign thriller, memoir, and road map for the future. With Democrats now in the wilderness after this historic defeat, Hacks argues that staying silent about what went wrong helps no one. Only by laying bare the missteps, miscalculations, and crimes of 2016, Brazile contends, will Americans be able to salvage their democracy.

Donna is going to need protection after this....
I use to watch Donna on CNN and listen to her excuses and lies and thought she was a sellout but now I realize I was so wrong. Donna has redeemed herself with this book and her tell all over the entire election process. Donna must have hit her breaking point with the democratic lies and Clinton Cartel that she finally decided to expose some of the lies. I now admire Donna for writing this great read and having the guts to publish these scandals. Donna please get protection because people are now on a mission to destroy your credibility.
If you followed the 2016 election and the news cycle you won't be able to pause this because it revels what was really happening behind the scenes and behind all of the media propaganda.
Donna stay strong and keep telling your story, all your haters can "go to hell!"

Brazile completely changed my perspective on the 2016 race.
I cannot recommend this book more highly. I thought I'd figured out, roughly, how the Clinton campaign fell apart, and while I was not wrong, on the whole, Brazile gave me a new, more sympathetic, humanizing view of the players involved. And yes... she slightly softened my negative view of a pol I once supported - Hillary Clinton.
Not only did I appreciate the raw, honest way Brazile wrote her story - it's free of a politician's smooth artifice - but also in the way she told it, in the smooth slow voice my southern relations echo. It is impossible to go on this crazy ride of the last 90 days of the Presidential campaign with Brazile and not feel the gut wrenching emotions of a campaign that never had a completely good day.
The only flaw in this tale, in my view, is Brazile's inability to see her candidate as we saw her, the wider public. She rails about Trump's locker room tape with Billy Bush, for a surprising amount of time, yet either forgets or intentionally omits many awful facts of the Clintons' lives. Brazile forgets that many of us women voters remember the agonizing interview of Juanita Broaddrick as she relived her rape by Bill Clinton, or the heartbreaking interview of the former intern whose life has been ruined by infamy because of his lusts. Brazile also ignores the horrifying FAA records that showed Clinton flying the Lolita Express - even without Secret Service, over two dozen times, to visit an island populated with minors, used as sex slaves. She conveniently forgets the voracious attacks Hillary waged, publicly, against these women, using the power of mainstream media and government agencies like the IRS.
For all of Brazile's gritty honesty, it's as though she can't bear to acknowledge the realities, much uglier than pussy talk, that played out in technicolor and hard print, for too many years, and too often. We all wished we could unknow some of the tragic outcomes of the Clintons' many scandals - sexual exploits and financial frauds - that destroyed countless lives. All of this was directly perpetrated or abetted by Brazile's candidate.
I am disappointed that Brazile was too afraid, too hurt in disappointment, or too partisan to give an honest telling of the full reasons that Trump's transgressions were not 'taken seriously or ignored' by the female electorate. As a woman, Brazile does real victims a serious disservice in name of Party.
But for that blindness to her candidate - and I would not be surprised if she skimmed over history for reasons of self-preservation - this book is as honest, well-presented and written an insider account, as we can realistically hope for from such a controversial, extraordinary campaign.
Despite my criticism of Brazile's glossing past her candidate's history, I gained a great deal of respect for Brazile and I wish her all the best in her private, hopefully quiet, life outside of politics. I pray for her safety and happiness. I only wish she was on the side of the populists and am grateful that Hillary did not have the wisdom to empower Brazile to run her ground game.

Russians Russians Russians etc
Blimey this goes on a bit about the Russians - they lost Hillary the election you know! (Nothing about her being a useless candidate, it was the Russians that did it). When she’s not talking at huge length about conspiracy theories there is nothing new here. Did I mention the Russians?

Donna Brazile - I love Delores
I have been interested in how the US elected Trump and what went wrong at the DNC. The sound bites and headlines about this book do it a disservice because it is a more rounded and intriguing personal insight into what went wrong in the DNC and how a foreign power undermined US democracy with Trump as the consequence of a rotting system. I loved Donna Brazile’s honesty and unique perspective. I hope she never loses Delores. A must read for any Democrat and anyone interested in what happens if a enemy power infiltrates your democracy.
