Publisher's summary

Steve Bannon is a self-made man who started life with no advantages and became a success on Wall Street before entering conservative politics. The left-wing media calls him a "white nationalist" and a "racist", but he is neither. Find out what Bannon is really like, and how the liberal press has tried to disparage him.

Someone had Mr. West a Kleenex

Any additional comments?

Richard West whines about the unfair portrayal of Steve Bannon, a known purveyor of slander, obfuscation and exaggeration - just watch his documentary, Occupied Unmasked, to see how much Bannon is willing to invent and how poorly he reasons. He says Bannon has been successful and that is why what the "liberal media" wants to tear him down. The country loves successful people and the media spends half of its time celebrating celebrities. This is a not credible reason for negative press on Bannon.

West claims there is no evidence that Bannon is a racist or a white nationalist. Yet Bannon openly stated that he was part of the Alt Right that the Alt Right contains many racists and white nationalist. If there is a meaningful distinction between them, West does not inform us. In fact, he offers no information on Bannon's beliefs or thinking.

He does repeatedly claim says the "liberal" media lied to us about the 2016 election, as if the major news organizations, which over-report the horse race and under report issues, purposefully covered up evidence of Trump success. They didn't. They purposefully avoided asking real questions of either candidate, which is part of the reason we ended with such ridiculous candidates. But they didn't lie. The media was surprised, including Fox. The President was surprised - almost everyone was surprised. We all got it wrong - that is very different from lying. West pretends to be marginalized. His feelings are clearly hurt and he seems to think that allows him to invents conspiracies. It doesn't. Even though the book is very short, it is isn't worth your time.
