Publisher's Summary

She tried to tell her friends. She even went to the police. No one would believe her - and now she was dead.
Problems had always followed Susan White, but when she remarried and moved to Houston's posh suburbs, she thought the past was behind her - until she met a deputy sheriff named Kent McGowen who would soon become her worst nightmare.
McGowen was an aggressive cop with a spotty record. When Susan rebuffed his advances, she claimed he stalked and harassed her, using her troubled teenage son as bait. And then, in an act of arrogance and revenge, he made good on his threats, setting her up for the kill.
In A Warrant to Kill, Kathryn Casey meticulously pieces together the tragic shards of the case to create a riveting story of vengeance, fear, and justice - of the terrifying power a badge can have in the wrong hands.

Shocked ! Hope this never happens again !

This is probably the hardest to write my feelings about ! It's very hard to believe that this could have happened ..... This snot nose, but sooo, very dangerous !!! So Called Cop ! I find it deplorable that regardless of this woman's problems, that they were, brought in by the defense as some kind of reason for what happened to her by ( Kent ) Then the jury and I will leave that out so not to ruin this for future readers. SERIOUSLY JURORS ! OK having said a small portion of my obvious disgust I'll move on. Kathryn Casey, you never disappoint ! Your writing is as always very well done. I use to be and still am a fan of Ann Rule, whom will be missed ! but you are every bit up there yourself.... I also am so glad that your Audible books are ( Unabridged ) Looking forward to more True Crime that hopefully you will continue to write. To the Narrator. Melanie Haynes: I think you did a great job, which makes all the difference in these Audible books. The difference about how this book made a impact in my thinking is that this obviously took place quite a while back and much has changed in forensics, however, I hope that these kinds of, I'll say Rogue Cops, that some how get through and into, and out, to the public, are much more scrutinized now. The so called we stick together bologna, in my opinion screamed of close to in this case, of skirting a crime, for not coming forth about this, "Reserve Deputy" his clearly chilling behavior witnessed by many police and deputy's. Thank you: LB Nelson.

Found this book boring

Didn’t care much for this book. I think the narrator wasn’t great. I’ve read other Casey books and enjoyed them.
