Publisher's summary

From renowned master of lovecraft-style horror Brian Lumley, comes Necrosope II: Vamphyri!, the second audiobook in the Necroscope® series.

Not the end of life, Harry Keogh discovered - and not the end of his battle against the terrible evil of vampires. In a secluded English village, Yulian Bodescu plots his takeover of the world. Imbued with a vampire's powers before his birth, Bodescu rules men's minds and bodies with supernatural ease. He is secretly creating an army of vampiric monsters, things that once were men but were now walking masses of destructive hunger!

Harry Keogh, Necroscope, thought that the war with the vampires had ended with the destruction of Boris Dragasani - and of Harry's body! But the man who talks to the dead lives on, more powerful than ever, able to transport himself instantly to any spot on the globe and to speak mind-to-mind with both the living and the dead.

Are Harry's new powers enough to defeat Yulian Bodescu and his legion of monsters - or will the vampire army overrun the living Earth?

I really enjoyed this

I love the story. Narration is pretty good. I will listen to this book again. I find myself thinking about the story line and the characters. Something about the book stays with you. The characters feel real. The places feel real, and the time period feels real. Love the details.

Vampires are terrible, but Russian spies are worse

maybe it's a little bit of story fatigue after just finishing the first volume in this series via audible, but in this episode the bad guys really seem to be the Russians and not the vampires. Not that the vampires warrant terrible creatures.

This book has a good payoff, so be patient.

It starts of awkward and slow, while connecting to the previous book in a complicated manner. It has a gradual improvement with a strange amount of politics behind the scenes and E-Spy world building to connect the stories and explain the ending of the previous Novel in a way to expand as well as continue the story.

The part that challenges patience is that it's a bridging Novel. Like many episode 2's, you'll get mixed reviews and mixed feelings. This is the book that truly introduces the Brian Lumley vampire in a way that feels like Bram Stoker's Dracula Pt. 2.

Keep the Necroscope books coming!!

3 years audible? I am glad to see audible finally recognized the demand for this series. But please don’t make us wait three more years for the rest of the books. I have already preordered book 3 that will be released on Sept 25.

fantastic story

the one thing that can be depended on with the Brian lovely story is the attention to detail. the imagery in the story is so vivid and it's some cases kind of gross but really adds to the drama of what the characters are going through. definitely one of my favorite vampire series
