Publisher's summary

Eighteen terrorists. Hundreds of hostages. Three good men and US Special Forces operative Zeb Carter.

Terrorists have captured a high profile hotel in Washington D.C and have complete control over hundreds of hostages. They are experienced, efficient, ruthless, and are working to a plan; a plan that involves mass execution. The hostages include US Special Forces operative Zeb Carter, who was dining in the hotel with friends when the terrorists attacked. Zeb is experienced, efficient, ruthless when he has to be, and has no plan. His goal is to survive; his dying can be fatal for the hostages because the killing is only the beginning.

Best in Series to Date

I recently discovered this series and have only read the ones available on Audible. However, of those this book is clearly my favorite. I cherish books where I haven't figured out the ending by mid way through the book. I can honestly say, all my considered endings were way off. Loved it and look forward to the next adventure of the Warrior gang.

Tight Writing, Tense Story, and Fierce Teammanship

I started this series at Book 8 and did not feel lost. Author Ty Patterson does a good job making this installment stand on its on by providing just enough backstory to quickly catch up readers who are jumping on the train mid-stream. He avoids the drag typically associated with filling gaps between installments and kept the Book 8 narrative chugging forward as hairy situations were introduced and tough decisions were presented at every turn. Patterson’s writing is tight, tense, and maintains a rhythmic tick until the very end. Patterson makes every character (protagonists, antagonists, and incidentals) show up front, center, and strong all along while giving them enough flaws to keep them human and real. The story showed Patterson’s vivid imagination, well-formed / researched knowledge, and ability to pull in readers/listeners without over-stretching their tolerances for suspending belief. I especially liked the family-like synergy and almost fierce mutual respect that thrums between each member of the Zeb team.

Narrator Steve Carlson owned the job and delivered a topnotch performance. It takes a certain amount of professional maturity to nail the kind of intensity projected and vast number of varying characters in the narrative without overdoing it, and Carlson definitely nailed it. I only question some of the accents he affected and the rather heavy breathing that was audible during quick pauses (this became most noticeable/distracting midway through the narrative).

Zeb and his team are back!

Zeb Carter and his team are back and on the case when the Vice Presidents son and friend are kidnapped. Being led on a merry chase, nothing is as it seems and which child was the real target! Good book that moves at a nice pace, as the team try to get ahead of the kidnappers.

Well read by Steve Carlson and keeps the story moving along nicely.

Worth The Credit!!

Any additional comments?

Great Story. Well written, fast paced, full of action, suspense and intrigue. Great plot. Totally engaging, interesting and entertaining. If you like mystery/thriller/suspense stories this one is absolutely worth your time.

While this book is part of an ongoing series it can definitely be read as a stand alone book. This is the second book in the Warriors Series I have listened to and I liked it even more than the first book I read. I need to go back and read the read the rest of the series in order. Just to experience all the adventures Zeb Carter and the team go through.

Steve Carlson does a really good job with the narration. Pleasant voice. Clearly spoken. Nice even pace. He has a calm kind of voice, very easy to listen to. His narration added to the enjoyment of the story.

Lots of action

This story was a lot of fun to listen to. Great plot and GREAT characters. What did I like the most? I liked the fact that even though it is the 8th book in a series, I can read it as a stand alone book and enjoy it just as much.

Fast paced, great action, great story

Any additional comments?

This is the first book I have listened too written by Ty Patterson and I am certainly glad I did. The group of warriors Ty Patterson has created for this book (and the series I am sure) is a great concept, well built, varied members and feels rather more real than one would expect from a 'Hollywood' movie. Each character is believable. Not one person in my opinion is a minor part of the team which adds to the likeability of the story.

The story line itself keeps you there listening. I certainly sat listening to this for much longer than my average self allotted listening time such as commuting. Evening TV was turned off and I dived back into Ty Patterson's Warriors with honest anticipation eager to find out what happened next.

Certainly took me to the stories of exciting action blockbusters, yet as already said, more real than Hollywood.

Zero is a great story, a good 'why did this happen'. The bad guys are stronger and well developed in that they are not simply a lackluster group of bad guys who you know will be beaten at the end. The Warriors are well challenged by them. I enjoyed the use of modern technology, drones, weaponry, computers etc.and felt this added to my enjoyment.

This audio book was provided to me free of charge by the author in return for an unbiased, honest review via AudioBook Boom and although I initially felt I would be missing something by listening to this book eight of a series I am glad I still did. I believe this book can be read in isolation however, I will be hunting down the others in the series as I enjoyed this one so much.

I felt the narration lacked something, however Steve Carlson's voice is clear and easy to follow and did not detract enough to cause me to dislike the book.

Well done Ty Patterson. You have created a great team, great idea, an excellent memorable action book and I shall look for more in the series.

Fast paced throughout!

Zero, by Ty Patterson was such a satisfying listen. Not only do you have good strong characters that you can’t help but like, but you also find a story filled with non stop action. Wisdom enables the well practiced team to ask the right questions, seek the unseen clues, and follow an unknown enemy who seems quite able to stay one step ahead.

It’s left me wanting to read or listen to the entire Warrior series. A lot to look forward to since this was book eight. If you like a suspense thriller, you should enjoy this one immensely.
