Publisher's summary

Three nuclear warheads complete with their delivery systems have been stolen from a Russian missile base. It's up to Captain Gayle Ecevit USAF and her joint Russian team to find and secure the missing devices, with the help of two members of the SAS. All the signs point towards North Korea, but to what end? Have they been taken to be reverse engineered to bolster a struggling weapons program or are they going to be used to ignite the Korean War all over again?

The answers may lie with a recent North Korean Defector sitting in the hands of the CIA - but maybe he's a plant put forward by North Korean Intelligence to muddy the waters. Meanwhile, MI6 has its eyes on a shadowy South African arms dealer who specializes in smuggling nuclear materials.

With a possible nuclear exchange in the balance, Gayle and her team must sift through all the possibilities and come to the right answer.

Excellent listen!

A vast collection of fascinating characters interwoven in a worldwide web of nuclear cat-and- mouse. Abbott clearly understands the political realities of the Hermit Kingdom and what it will take to deter its nuclear ambition. A tad slow in some sections, it drives to climactic ending that is difficult to forget.

The narration and sound design is radio-play worthy. A perfect pairing. Clearly Beesley understands the subtleties of sound design and its ability to enhance a scene, without overpowering it. He also does an admirable job of inhabiting the many voices in Abbot's world.

Overall a great listen.

Loved the book and the production.

Plot is so plausible it's like history that just hasn't happened yet. Thoroughly engrossing. Intelligent storyline. Believable characters and realistic action. Superb narration and studio quality sound effects. Hated to see it end. Hope for more.
