Publisher's summary

Ella Mae LeFaye's Charmed Pie Shoppe has become a phenomenon beyond her wildest dreams, providing the enchanted town of Havenwood, Georgia, with spellbinding desserts and magical pies. Her personal life is also heating up as she takes on the responsibilities of leadership within her magical community. In fact the only thing weighing her down is the fact that handsome Hugh Dylan won't return her calls.

Still, when Havenwood is rocked by a series of mysterious deaths, Ella Mae must put romantic longings aside, especially when she realizes that the mystical symbols left at each crime scene are dangerously personal. Now she will have to whip up all her supernatural skills to uncover a killer out to settle an ancient score before the murderer devastates everything Ella Mae is determined to protect.

Very enjoyable!

I really liked the balance of carefree, fun, friendship, passionate pie baking, family and small town life with the suspenseful, mysterious, magical and mystical life surrounding it. I also like the recipes and baking hints even though I don't bake pies 😊.

Mystical

I’m enjoying the series of books - this one was more “other-worldly”, but I still wanted to find out how it was going to end. I look forward to the next in the series.

I love this series..

But I live in Georgia and I really wish the narrator would stop dropping her g's at the end of words that end in "ing". We drawl, but we're not hicks.

more urban fantasy than cozy mystery.

this story got even more wierd than usual for this series. I dont really associate magical battles with the genre.

I loved the first two and I enjoyed this one. However it just became long.

I won't read anymore in this series.

I really like Ellery Adams books. Although I wish she would stick to mysteries instead of tossing romances in the mix, I think her books are well crafted. I chose this series because I liked the others, Book Retreat, Bayside Book Writers and the Secrect Scone @ Book Society. I found this book series charming, whimsical and a surprise. As a hard core sci fi lover this series took me by happy surprise. This book finished for me. I won't spoil it for those who want to read it, but I am unhappy with the character development and I won't continue with the series. She took what was magical about it away and I miss it.

Disappointed with the ending

Although I love these books, I've always struggled with the narrator. She just always felt like an odd fit, but I stuck with the stories because I enjoyed them so much. But then came this book, and I feel betrayed by the storyline. In the end, it wasn't the narrator that made me give up on the Charmed Pie Shoppe; it was the story. Can't recommend. Can't say more without spoilers.

Meh..

"Meh..." about describes it. Not at all as good as her Bayside writers (or whatever it's called, can never remember series names) group series. Time for a new installment about her authors group.

urf the narrator!

Would you try another book from Ellery Adams and/or C. S. E Cooney?

no I just can not. Had to read the book myself. The overly cartoon voices, the odd pacing. I can't listen to her.I have tried

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

read the book

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of C. S. E Cooney?

ANYONE!!!! Including my 9 year old

Any additional comments?
