Publisher's Summary

There's a turning point in every war, but I didn't expect this one to be in my front yard. Allies of the Fae king have moved against the military stationed in Saint Charles. Our unsteady alliances are threatening to fracture, providing the water witches and vampires an opportunity to strike.
With losses on both sides, things are far more dire than we realized, and the return of a long-forgotten enemy has made that clear. Thankfully, I know a very grumpy parrot.

Interesting addition to the Vesik series

Eric Asher may not be the best author but I think he has a creative imagination and trys to put it into his Vesik books. I like the characters in the Vesik series and that is one of the reasons why I continue to listen to these books. In his first books there were alot of "he said" "she said" conversations but I think he did a better job of not doing that in this book. But like the first 6 books in this series I still feel like there are some story holes or things not explained enough in this book. The Performance of the actor reading this book was ok, I feel he did a better job in the first 5 books than he has in the last 2, there were a hand full of times where he used the wrong voices or it was hard to tell the difference between the characters voices. Overall I think this book was a good addition to the series. If you are hesitate to get this book you might wait until the next box set comes out.

Action at every turn

Full of the action, danger, and friendships that I've come to expect from this series. Very visual and imaginative. The narrator does a fantastic job bringing the story and characters to life.
