I enjoyed listening to Will to Live, the 2nd in the author’s Detective Kay Hunter series. In this super chilling mystery, the plot is a unique one and imaginatively done, with chapters that are from the evildoer’s POV making it even more disturbing to hear his thoughts in his own inner creepy mind! Recent deaths on a mile long section of railway track, already known for its high rate of suicides, begin to look suspicious when a dog walker discovers a man tied down to the tracks- and it’s too late to stop the train. Hunter and her team do a deft job of digging back into recent ‘suicides’ to find links between those, while also investigating new deaths that start happening at an alarming rate! The author has written a great female lead- she is tough, not dysfunctional, a good leader and role model. I enjoyed the subplot of her investigation into who is setting her up at her own job. Read it and find out! Here we also see more of Hunter’s personal life- she has a great husband and refreshing to see a healthy relationship on the pages. Overall well done and I look forward to seeing the plots get even better as the series progresses! Alison Campbell is excellent narrating, as usual, and brings the tale to life. Recommended.

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This was another great police detective thriller. As with the first one, it was gritty, realistic, and suspenseful. The author does a great job of continuing to develop the main character. The narrator also continues to do a great job of bringing this story to life. Well worth a credit, I will definitely be interested in book 3.
