Publisher's Summary

Where Old Bones Lie is set on an isolated archaeological dig in the Cotswolds. When a body is found near the site, the suspects, witnesses, and clues all conflict, and the disappearance of a group of New Age travellers just seems to add to the mystery.Superintendent Markby and Meredith Mitchell must untangle the mess, and in doing so find themselves in a dangerous and uncompromising situation.

Critic Reviews

"A master of characterization, Granger specializes in engaging eccentrics, and she has a winner here - an irresistible old codger who lives at the local dump." (Publishers Weekly)

A bit far-fetched, but enjoyable

I've listened to most of the Anne Granger books available on the Audible list and have found them all worth listening to. I rate this book a little lower than others, for, although I don't expect realism in her books, this one seems a bit more far-fetched in the number of people in a small community who are willing to murder or attempt murder. The village of Bamford must have the highest murder rate in the UK!
