Pretty good YA thriller

Shelley is a high school student who often feels invisible is now being hunted and warned that she's in danger. Everything she once thought was true is a lie. Yesterday she dreamed of graduating and moving off to college and now she is fighting for her life.

The beginning did a good job of pulling you in the story and holding your attention. The narrator, Gillian Rose, sounds exactly like a 16-17 year old female and was very in character throughout the book. Shelley started out as meek but proved to be a very strong individual.

The book was enjoyable but had a couple of mature scenes that didn't seem to flow with the rest of the story. The relationship between Shelley and Winston was great even though he was in love with Shelley. Very quick read. I was given the audiobook in return for my honest review.

Not a bad young adult story.

The story involves a 17 year old girl who discovers a secret about herself after meeting a stranger. Her life quickly spirals out of control as she ties the mystery together. It wasn’t a bad listen but full of teenage angst. The narrator sounded just like a mousy teenager and was absolutely perfect. The ending is left open and I wouldn’t mind more of the story. Great YA Thriller

Shelley's ordinary world changes in an instant and her life will never be the same. I enjoyed this fast paced thriller with plenty of twists and turns, suspense and teenage angst. Gillian Rose's voice sounded age appropriate and her narration drew me in. What Lies Within was an entertaining listen and I would recommend it.

Young Adult Thriller

A young woman has her average life turned upside down when she receives a creepy message foretelling her death. This fast paced suspense thriller will keep you guessing from top to bottom. Gillian Rose gives a great voice over performance and really brings the characters to life. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a younger protagonist as the star of their mystery/thriller!

What Lies Within

What Lies Within
: James Morris

The listener will be drawn into an intriguing story of Shelley Marano a somewhat normal seventeen year old girl: who discovers in a very short time that everything she thought she knew about herself was untrue. There is plenty of suspense, mystery, teen angst, and romance/friendship within the plot. I will look for more by this author.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Gillian Rose voice was an excellent choice for this novel.
