Publisher's Summary

The body of a young City lawyer is discovered on an East London building site, assaulted and brutally murdered. Initial enquiries lead DI Simon Fenchurch to a driver employed by Travis, a controversial new app-based cab company. Within days another woman - a Travis driver - is found murdered.
As the body count goes up, DI Fenchurch and his colleagues on the East London Major Investigation Team delve into the crimes and unveil a murky conspiracy that some will do anything to keep hidden.
When familiar faces begin to emerge from the shadows, Fenchurch realizes this case is more personal than he'd thought. Could he finally be on the brink of solving the mystery that has dogged him for over a decade: who abducted his daughter, Chloe - and where is she now?

Good story but get another narrator

This is not the story for you if you have a problem with the term "christ" being used as sign of irritation (e.g., christ on a cracker, christ in a Volvo). The story is good though lengthy. But as you near the pinnacle, about 2-4 hours until the end, you understand that it was all worth it. And the last 5 minutes of the story (which you must get to by listening to the tale in its entirety) really brings it all home, removing any feeling of wasted time.
I didn't read the previous books in this series, but I didn't find it hard to follow. It delivered in the end. All the pieces lined up well with no manufactured coincidences, though good luck didn't hurt. But life is often like that.
I didn't think there would be a continuation, but I could be wrong. Either way, there is a full ending to this tale. I didn't finish it with more questions.

A lot of twists in this story

This was an amazing story, with a lot of twists. I didn’t guess the ending which makes it very satisfying.

frustrating

loved the story but found the policing very frustrating. every time the police chased a suspect they lost them and each time they tried to apprehend someone the villain got the better of them

Awful narration!

I have no idea what this book is about as I cannot concentrate due to the narration which is one of the worst I have come across. The narrator has no idea how to put a book across and make you want to listen, he obviously thinks He's in panto, his accent in parts reminded me of old mother Riley! S.O.C.O ( scene of crime officers) is pronounced socko, not so co! Avoid this book if you enjoy the audible version, will definitely not buy another book if old mother Riley is in the chair, terrible and sorry I wasted my money
