Publisher's Summary

The law will protect you. Until it doesn't. When Peter Garrison's failed defense of a client leads to a retribution plot against him, he's forced to confront a nemesis intent on destroying him.
Jason Felding seeks payback after his teenage brother winds up sodomized and mentally scarred during an unfair incarceration. He targets the restaurant owner who put his sibling behind bars and the lawyer who couldn't get a simple underage drinking case dropped. Obsessed with justice, Jason murders the snitch and, in an elaborate ruse, frames Peter as the killer.
Peter finds himself the prime suspect in a murder that rocks the small town of Quincy, Vermont, a cruel irony since he left his firm frustrated that guilty clients sometimes escape punishment, while innocent ones are convicted. With the help of a crafty private investigator, Peter vows to solve the crime and save his reputation. But as Peter closes in on the truth, both he and his new girlfriend may be next on Jason's hit list.

What disappointed you about Warped Justice?

The performance was awful. The reading was monotone, and clipped. The characterization
was terrible. I will definitely avoid any books read by this narrator.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

His characterization was awful. The voices were annoying and monotone. He rushed parts, and he was very clipped at others.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The story wasn't bad but the narration deterred from it.

Difficult to follow narrator

I find it difficult to separate the rating for the story from the terrible narration. There is very little difference between the voices of the characters so if you don't fully concentrate it's easy to lose the thread of the story. The exception is the ludicrous attempt at indicating that a character is female. Some characters voices are so unbelievable that it ruins the impact of what is said particularly as in some cases there is a very long pause between each word or for some strange reason part way through a sentence. I will certainly be avoiding this narrator in the future.
