A different and interesting listen . . . Leopold, a rich consultant travels to Paris to access the security in the Louvre . . . discovering an art theft . . . then the murders begin . . . I love the characters . . . especially Leopold's bodyguard, Jerome, and Mary, the NYPD officer . . . the trail doesn't lead where you might think . . . great story, and not gruesome . . . I appreciate that there aren't graphic sex scenes, too . . . I will listen to the next in the series . . .

A ridiculous end to a ridiculous story. It was a Boys’ Own story but full of gratuitous violence. An improbable storyline told in a very boring way by someone who l am sure must have sadistic tendencies. The amount and description in detail of violent deaths of apparently innocent people is grotesque and makes for very unpleasant listening.
This is the first book in the series, and I definitely want to listen to (or read) the rest! Leopold Blake is an unusual character, but well fleshed out, as are his companions. The story is tautly written, but also has humour. The reader does a very good job here, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening.
