Publisher's summary

The gleaming muzzle of a rifle burns with an insatiable desire, and its new owner is all too happy to comply....

Haunted items are traversing the country, and their ghosts are wreaking havoc on their new owners. At the center of the chaos is an old rifle possessed by a blood-thirsty specter, who dreams of massacres at every turn. Meanwhile, lurking in a nearby mailbox is an antique novel possessed by a monster who takes pleasure in agonizing, heart-stopping torture.

Stefan Korzh’s plan is unraveling flawlessly, and he can’t imagine a better way of seeking revenge on the world. But Victor Daniels and Jeremy Rhinehart won’t let that happen. Recovering from their grisly encounters with the dead, they’re more prepared than ever before. They work on finding the sources of bloodshed and imprisoning the crazed collectibles.

With murderous ghosts continuing to raise the death toll, Victor and Jeremy have their hands full. They race against time to stop the mayhem and save innocent bystanders. Fueled by their quest for revenge, each step brings them toward the culprit behind all the horror. But as they get closer to catching this madman, they discover how dangerous Stefan Korzh truly is....

The Only Certainty is Death

A Marine attached to a rifle is about to unleash horror on an unsuspecting community, and Victor and Jeremy are doing their best to track down the weapon and lock it away. They are also searching for the person who is selling the haunted items. For Victor, it is personal.

Great book! Enjoyed this one immensely.

Meets expectations yet again

What did you love best about Walter's Rifle?

The action. The gore level was lower this time around which made those actions scenes all the more exciting.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Walter's Rifle?

How can I say it without giving away any spoilers? You find out early on that a haunted rifle is sent to a man named Walter (hence the title). There's a scene toward the end where all hell breaks loose among the cops. And then there's a similar scene a second time with other people...That rifle. That ghost is crazy!

Which character – as performed by Thom Bowers – was your favorite?

I think Tom was my favorite this time around. Just a teenager but wow! He's a strong kid, mentally I mean. He handled his fear and pain much better than a certain adult from the previous book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me gasp several times. It didn't get any stronger reactions from me though. It could be that I'm not invested enough in the series and the characters.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed learning more about Jeremy's past. It was really interesting.

The horrifying adventure continues!

Jeremy and Victor continue to hunt down Stefan's haunted items. The rifle in this story has a truly evil ghost attached to it, causing anyone coming in contact with it to kill others or themselves. Thom Bower's voice for Stefan's dead father brings this terrifyingly imposing ghost to life! I almost feel I have to follow his orders myself. Misfortune befalls poor Marie, but the introduction of an old friend of hers (very old and tiny) was intriguing. Having Shane Ryan, ghost killer extraordinaire, crossover into this series to help was a nice surprise! Great story, and wonderful narration! I can't wait to see what happens next!

A story that gets more and more exciting

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love all of Ripley's works thus far but the Haunted Collection series is quickly becoming my favorite!

We continue on with Victor, Jeremy, and Stefan on their respective journeys, meet some new friends and foes along the way, and have a surprise crossover with a character from another of Ripley's great works.

I thoroughly enjoyed the continuation of this story and the further development of the characters. This book was a lot more action packed than the previous one and also seemed to pace itself a lot better. Hopefully we do not have to wait too long for the third installment because I am nervous, scared, and excited to see what happens next.

Haunted ordinary objects

Wow, each story keeps getting better and better. It is scary to read about ordinary objects being haunted and people not suspecting anything. This story made me look at things in an antique store differently also it was hard not to be cautious when entering a thrift store. This writer is that good. This story was worth the time I spent listening. I will continue to read the rest of the series.

The Terror Continues

I absolutely love Ripley’s books not only has ghosts but great characters this is the 2nd of a series. Victor and Jeremy continue their hunt for Stephan and the haunted items, even better than the 1st. I do like Stephan’s dad as well as new character of Tom, so good to see Shane (from Berkley Street series). I want more. Highly recommend to anyone who likes creepy, scary thriller listens with ghosts! I was given this audiobook by Scare Street and have voluntarily left this review. THANK YOU!!

Gripping!

Stefan Korzh is still selling his mother and fathers haunted items and hoping they kill as many people as possible. In this edition, Victor and Jeremy have to retrieve a book and a rifle. Both the items are intent on killing!! The book is picked up by a young boy and the rifle by a man who has no problem killing with it!

I loved book 1 of this and was hoping that this would be just as good, well it was, and it even surprised me by being better. I had a hard time putting this aside because I needed to see what would happen. The idea of a haunted book was super scary because it's such an innocuous item, and the fact that a young boy had it made it worse!! The plot surrounding the rifle was also scary. The man who had it was a psychopath, but when you add in the homicidal ghost, it made for hard reading.

There is a part of the book where I was thrilled to read because we have a character crossover!!! Not going to say who, but I'm so happy to see him in this. I really hope he gets a few more cameos in the rest of the series. Jeremy and Victor are as awesome as always and we get to see a new character who has potential! Really looking forward to finding out more about him.

In all, this was an amazing read. Creepy, scary, gripping and entertaining, this book is a must read. Ron Ripley sure knows how to write great reads. Highly recommend his books!

Thom Bowers did an amazing job reading this. I think this is my favourite by him so far because he really brought the creepy atmosphere to life! I couldn't stop listening!!!

I was voluntarily provided this audiobook for free from the author, narrator, or publisher. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.
