Publisher's Summary

On a busy Washington morning, the stately calm of the White House is shattered in a deadly terrorist attack on the executive mansion. The president is evacuated to an underground bunker, but not before nearly 100 hostages are taken.
Mitch Rapp, the CIA’s top counterterrorism operative, is sent in to take control of the crisis and determines that the president is not as safe as Washington’s power elite had thought. Indeed, Rapp has made a chilling discovery that could rock Washington to its core: someone within his own government wants his rescue attempt to fail.

What the Critics Say

"Endless intrigue... Flynn mixes in a spicy broth of brutal terrorists, heroic commandos, and enough secret-agent hijinks to keep the confrontation bubbling until its flag-raising end." (Publishers Weekly)
"Transfer of Power emerges in its sense of authenticity, depth of research, and almost seamless dramatic scenario....One of Flynn's finest skills as an up-and-coming young master of the genre of political thrillers is his ability to create a cast of compelling characters." (Bookpage)

Huge Fan, but....

Love the Mitch Rapp series, but I gotta say I'm not happy with this book released in unabridged format with a narrator other than George Guidall. The book is well written, but the point of an audio book is to enjoy a performance. Otherwise, I could just actually sit down and read the darn thing. I don't mean to be snippy, but Nick Sullivan just doesn't do it for me or the book. I've waited a long time for some of the older books to be released in unabridged formats, but I don't think I'm going to be purchasing any of the other ones narrated by Sullivan. Just not very captivating considering the character that he's trying to portray.

Great Story-Bad Narration

I've read just about all of the Vince Flynn books. Transfer of Power was one of my favorites. Mitch Rapp at his best. My only complaint is the narration. Nick Sullivan's version of Rapp's voice doesn't come close to how Flynn presents him in the stories. They need to use George Guidall. He does a great job and his voices match the character being portrayed in the book.
