Publisher's summary

In part two of Trailer Park Wives, the double-wide edition, answers arrive at the same time that new questions emerge. Samantha Jacobs, who's still busy in Hazard, selling OxyContin, gets worried when Dwayne takes off on his own. What she finds when she goes looking for him sends her on a new kind of journey.

Back home, Deena is giving the performance of her lifetime as mother-of-the-year while the caseworkers watch and judge her from the other side of the one-way mirror. Lettie begins to learn more than she ever wanted to about Joe's secrets, and Cierra, well, she gets an unexpected visitor to the Club, and what's a girl to do when things end badly?

By the time the wives find out how - and why - Anne Marie ended her life, they've learned a whole lot of other things about their dear friend...secrets become known, and they long for the days when Anne Marie, their dear friend, was still above ground and living life with them in the grimmest trailer park in Ohio.

DOUBLE THE PLEASURE WITH DOUBLE-WIDE TRAILER PARK!

This is a continuation of Denise's first installment in the series, Trailer Park Wives: Single-Wide Edition. Loved it as much as the first one! We delve back into the lives of our "trailer ladies," and ties up some stuff left hanging from the prior book. I love reading about their problems, up & downs, and all the great and tacky drama that goes along with it. One of my guilty pleasures are those dumb reality shows like "Marriage Boot Camp" and "Big Brother" so I love following the lives of these trailer park chicks :) It's a fun and entertaining read, and I would definitely recommend it :)
I hope there are more audiobook installments to come! :)

Soap Opera Plus

This is being written without any intent to be invective. I found the verbosity and bombastic use of adjectives to be a bit much for a novel written about an inferred lower cast. In all honesty, I did feel the the constant use of big words and analogies that were a little over the top. The story was predictable and could be enjoyable if it was not sprinkled with language that really would not be heard in a Trailer Park..... The narration was quite good and voice inflection added to the story. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Dark quirky story continued

This series is sort of the anti-Sex in the City. The narrator even sounds like the television Samantha when she reads the character of Samantha in the book.
This book continued the story from the first book, but was much stronger. The first book was well written, but seemed to be a set up for this to continue. I hope that the third book is released on audio. I would like to see what happens next with these characters.

Side note - I enjoyed the easter egg of a famous author and one of his characters as FBI agents.

The train just keeps wrecking

Double Wide is the continuation of Single Wide. Happy to see that we get resolution of all the loose ends from the first story and finally learn about Anne Marie’s death. I have to say that I really enjoy the characters more than the plot itself. The daily lives of the women are far more interesting than Anne Marie’s death. While we get resolution, the wives continue to have problems that don’t go away and some escalate, leading to another chapter. While we learn about Anne Marie’s death, the mystery and reasoning seemed to be less important than the fact that it happened. Wanted a bit more from that piece but was to wrapped up in the lives of Samantha and Lettie to really care.
Have to say Samantha’s story is my favorite. She is sneaky, sexy, and very dangerous. Her story is the most provocative and glad she took the spotlight. I hate her as much as I love her and was really happy that her story was the biggest part. Her story really twists and turns while everyone else’s seems somewhat stagnant. Her problems just snowball throughout this and I love hearing how she wiggles free from them. I enjoyed Lettie’s story as well, but it seemed like she was there more to solve the mystery than to really resolve her actual problems. Even with some of the characters taking a backseat, I have become invested and I’m ready to move into the park just to hang out with them. I know this is in the comedy section, but this is a dark drama that is complete with foul language, indecent situations, and lots of fun. I really want to go bowling with these gals.
I have to admit I preferred the first book more. I really liked the buildup of the characters it had and while this moved the plot forward, it wasn’t as exciting. Don't get me wrong, I loved every minute of it. I felt like the resolution to the death of Anne Marie was just a side note and while it answered the mail, it just didn’t move me. I’m happy that this ends with an opening for a next chapter. I looked at the author’s website just to make sure that there is more coming and excited that there are at least two more. I am totally the old woman with the binoculars looking at this group behind a closed door.
As before the narrator did a fantastic job. I think her voice is perfect for this and am glad she continues to be the narrator. Hope she continues for the next two.

Not my genre

Can't really say whether this was really good or not, but that's mainly due to this book not being in my wheel house. I listened, but could not get into it.

GOOD READ!

I enjoyed it. The narration was good and kept you entertained. The author did a good job with the characters and plot. I read the previous book in this series (Single Wide) and enjoyed it as well. I really look forward to reading more books from this author. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A Decent Story...

As A Sequel You Expect To Have A Slight Lackluster From The First Installment And This Series Is No Different. The Story Did Have Some Twists And Turns One Wouldn't Expect But Overall Still A Good Story...I Still Enjoyed The Narrator...For Some Odd Reason She Has The Ability To Make Sam In This Book Sound Like Sam From Sex In The City...Uncanny!....

A shockingly deep soap opera

I received a free copy in exchange for an unbiased review. I'm really impressed. The writing was top notch, the story was well thought out with a lot of twists and turns.

What Just Happened

I had the pleasure of listening to book 1 and feel as though you need to have book 1, in order to fully understand the character in book 2. Book 2 answers the question about AnnMarie's death and why she did it, but there was so many other avenues that this book went down, such as Dwayne's death, and one moment is a Red Corvette and the next it was a red mustang. I must have overlooked something in the book, so maybe it was just me, but I feel like there good have been several avenues (or more in depth stories, within the story) vs a little bit here and a little bit there. Not bad though and I feel based on the ending that there will be another book to come, so maybe it will help to answer the lose ends for me.

Even better than Single Wide - Book 1

This is not my usual book. I don’t usually do suspenseful mystery thrillers but I’m so glad I decided to make an exception. Book one was good but I like this one is even better. You need to start with book one to understand better what is going on in this book. The author provided much needed information to understand Anne Marie’s troubled life and actions.

Narration was excellent and brought the story to life.

There are some outrageous moments, crazy decisions, and laugh out loud moments in this book. The author did a great job portraying the characters so realistic and the story totally sucked me in. I really enjoyed how the characters have grown and developed. Specially Lettie, I’m looking forward to seeing her turn her life around for the best.

There are multiple POV and different stories going on at the same time. But the main women are friends and get together once a week to catch up. The story concludes in a bit of a cliffhanger but many unresolved issues from book 1 are wrapped up well. I’m looking forward to the next book in this unique series!
