Publisher's summary

Time to Kill is a pulse-racing thriller about Islamic terrorists bent on delivering Egypt into the hands of America's arch enemy - Iran. In Jack Coughlin and Donald A. Davis' newest thriller in the New York Times best-selling series featuring American sniper Kyle Swanson, the Sphinx, a symbol of Egypt's ancient history and power, is blown up by terrorists. A visit to Cairo by Iran's national soccer team ends in a bloodbath. Egyptian missiles sink an Iranian vessel in the Red Sea. The Muslim Brotherhood is on the march, working behind the scenes to provoke a war between Egypt and its powerful neighbor, Iran - a war that would certainly result in an Iranian victory. What is at stake is nothing less than total control of the Suez Canal, through which most of the world's oil flows. Behind the coup is a sinister double agent called The Pharaoh whose goal is a fanatic Islamic regime on Israel's borders.

To avoid a direct military confrontation with Iran, the US turns to master American sniper Kyle Swanson and his team, Trident. Using ruthlessly accurate targeted kills, they go undercover to teach the Iranian leadership a lesson and prevent a war that could strangle the world's oil supply and cause the deaths of thousands.

Egypt and Iran a pair made in.....

I haven't met a Coughlin book I didn't like, this book is my least favorite, in like the book I read just before this one was my favorite to date.
I just didn't feel comfortable with the characters for some unexplained reason, but the story line was very current and was all about the world we live in now.

Not as good as the others

I have enjoyed all the Coughlin's books, including this one, but Time to Kill falls a bit short. Kyle is badass as ever but the new MI6 characters add nothing to the story. The woman has no personality and no connection with Kyle and her lovers are irrelevant. The man shows a little toughness but still adds nothing. The plot is kind of lame and not founded in the patriotism we see in Coughlin's other books.

Only 1 hour into the next book and already finding it much better

Another Top Notch Kyle Swanson Adventure

Retired Gunnery Sargent Coughlin does another great job continuing the story and adventures of Gunnery Swanson. This story is a bit different because Kyle spends most of his time working alone applying his vast and many talents. As with the earlier books in the series, the story moves right along at a steady pace sprinkling in action with character development and background. Connecting Kyle up with a local inhabitant and coaching the was a great touch. And unlike so many other writers Coughlin's supporting characters aren't all about the double cross or saving their own skin (can't say more or I will spoil it). The ending was a nice twist too showing how Kyle can be a bit high strung and jumping to the wrong conclusions. Love the depth of the characters, the action, the detail .. well all of it really.

Favorite so far

This is my favorite Kyle Swanson book so far. It started off a little slow, but the last half more than made up for it.

Great series

I found these late and I am going through them now like candy. Each book keeps getting better. Up there with Flynn, Thor, and the best of the genre.
