Sergeant Amy Callan and Lieutenant Caroline Cooke have a lot in common. Both were army high-flyers. Both were acquainted with Jack Reacher. Both were forced to resign from the service. Now they're both dead.
Found in their own homes, naked, in a bath full of paint. Apparent victims of an army man. A loner, a smart guy with a score to settle, a ruthless vigilante. A man just like Jack Reacher.

Average story severely compromised by narrator
Not really, no. The story itself was pretty average, but the narration made it all but unbearable.
I had it figured by the end of the third chapter, so was hardly surprised by the ending. Predictable and slow.
The narrator's normal reading voice is fine, but his characters are horrible. Reacher sounds like something from Loony Tunes, every female sounds like a granny, and there's a fair bit of Pluto and Daffy Duck mixed in too. Reacher sounds like he is mentally impaired (no offence meant to those unfortunate souls), and the two supposedly hot women in the plot both sound like they are in their late eighties. Horrible.
Surprisingly, yes. I think it could make a fairly interesting film - if the possible baddies aren't revealed so obviously early in the storyline.
This has been a low-point for me, in my Jack Reacher life. Echo Burning used to sit at the lowest rung of the ladder, but now that spot belongs to The Visitor. If I hadn't waited so long to start listening to this book, I would've returned it. The story was below par for Child, and the narration was terrible. No more Wayward Morse-read books for me - Jeff Harding does it so much better.
Just wasted $20 on this rubbish !!!!!
Love the Reacher series but this narrator is terrible.................. His voice is exceptionally annoying and his character voices just, well, grate.
Would NEVER choose any book narrated by Hayward Morse.............EVER !!!!!
Annoyance..........................his voice and delivery was sub-standard.
The narrator ruined this audiobook
