Sam doesn't have a business card. Nothing that says Samuel W. Callahan, Political Tracker, Esq. Instead, he gets paid to hide in crowds, following candidates on the campaign trail to record their every misstep, public and private. It's something Sam's oddly good at since he grew up on the streets. And it's not like he has anyone waiting for him at home. After a life spent in and out of foster care, Sam isn't very good at getting close to people, or letting people get close to him. He just needs enough money to finish up at Georgetown Law and find a decent job so he can finally stop running.
But when Sam witnesses something that could destroy a rising political star, he has no choice but to run. In the line of fire, Sam must outrun the memories of his past if he wants to have any hope of outrunning an assassin's bullets.

New series with Tons of Potential!
Never listened to JustinTorres before but thought he did a great job. Will certainly look for more with him narrating.
I listened to it in one day.
Very very good book. Nonstop suspense from the first paragraph. Sam Callahan has been shuffled around his whole life, given up at birth, lived on the streets and spent time in juvenile detention for car theft at 16 y/o. Taken in by a minster he had previously helped out, who saw potential in him. Sam completed his GED and went on to college with a goal of becoming a street lawyer. To earn $ he becomes a "tracker". Basically he gets hired to watch politicians for indiscretions their opponents can use against them.
Within minutes of the beginning of the book and only days before the presidential election Sam records a video on his phone of the presidential front runner kill a woman in a hotel room. Sam is spotted and the race is on. Multiple agencies are involved, some want to help him, some want to kill him and Sam has no idea which is which. Meanwhile everyone of his friends that he talks to is murdered. He's afraid for his girlfriend and his mother's lives.
The fast pace of the story is believable. No super human tricks but instead street smarts and intelligence.
No spoilers but this book has a completely unexpected yet so satisfying ending.

- Wayne "I love espionage, legal, and detective thrillers but listen to most genres. Very frequent reviews. No plot spoilers! Please excuse my typos!"
