Publisher's summary

A mystery wrapped in a myth about the origins of humanity. A race to find an ancient pyramid hidden in plain sight. A secret so dangerous its guardians will kill to protect it. And an ancient covenant that might save the world, or destroy it completely.

In 1655, a group of explorers from the Emerald Star entered the Namibian Desert in search of an ancient relic rumored to be hidden in a secret temple. None of the crew ever returned - but stories of their mysterious demise continued to be told.

In the present-day Turkish subterranean city of Derinkuyu, a strange wooden placard is discovered floating in an old well. It’s covered in the script of a language long forgotten, but Sam Reilly has seen the text before. The words suggest an ancient race might still exist, and are in the process of building a new temple. The question is - is it the same temple where Dr. Billie Swan is being held prisoner?

Fun to listen to

Good book, the narration is good, just not as gripping as others, but well worth the time to listen. I received this audio book at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

Sam Reilly back at it

So this is my second Sam Reilly book, after first reading 15. I don't know why I did this to myself but here it goes: Sam Reilly is an adventurer in a world with a mix of science and legend. The book has some really interesting plot points and you can see how many of the books tie in together but I think you'd be much better off with starting on book #1

The narration is also pretty decent. I was given a code in exchange for my review.

Awesome Book!

The Third Temple by Christopher Cartwright is absolutely gripping. I love the character of Sam Reilly and immediately get pulled into the book. I love how the author weaves history into fiction with so many outstanding elements. The imagery is incredible. I have never really thought of the Four Horsemen until listening to this book, and I was hooked. The descriptions in this story had me visualizing so much. David Gilmore is the perfect narrator for this book and series. He is so talented giving the various characters distinguishable voices and portraying the fitting emotions. This was such a great listen! On a side note, this is not the last of the Four Horsemen.

Great book, great series.

The Third Temple Sam Reilly, Book 7. Each of the books is a standalone novel, good I like that, And as you read each book in order you begin to see that they are all interlinked - building towards a grand answering of unanswered questions.
As always fast paced lots of action and plenty of high tech gear . A 5* storyline, enhanced by David Gilmore's narration.
Author & narrator make an awesome team.

End of the world? Not so fast...

Christopher Cartwright’s writing and David Gilmore’s narration are a good marriage that deliver another great Sam Reilly novel. Although 7th in the series, it stands very well on its own. This book has hints of events in previous books but in no way detracts from the story. It actually makes the reader want to go to the beginning and get caught up. The thoughtful weaving of history and Fiction into a masterful book is almost overwhelming (in a good way). End of the world? Well maybe… Well maybe not… The take on the 4 horsemen is truly a masterful stroke of the pen!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary honest review.

Sam and Tom back again!

I love this series. I havnt exactly listened in order but they are all stand alone. I saw a previous review that complained that Sam didn’t appear until halfway through the book, this isn’t necessarily true I would say maybe a quarter to a third into the books Sam shows up, however it is the style of the series to often have several other back stories within the full tale. I enjoy the other stories and they are always relevant to the story as a whole. I love the descriptions by the author I can always feel like I can see or experience the places he is describing. In this one Sam deals with the master builders once again and possibly the four horsemen of the apocalypse as he and Tom try to find their friend Billie who has been missing. Lots of action lots of mystery and twists and turns. I enjoy this series very much and as always the narration is excellent! I received a free review copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A race to find an ancient pyramid hidden in plain

First, I have to start off by stating that I got this book free of charge in exchange for a review, but as I always state, this does not in any way impact my review. My reviews are always honest and my own.

Another book finished with the exciting new adventures of Sam Reilly. Christopher Cartwright got me hooked on his characters in this series. I have read all seven and they are awesome. Fast-paced, suspense and a touch of humor. It is fun fantasizing about the events and quests the characters Sam Reilly and Tom Bower tackle. Loved the attention to explaining details about equipment, guns, diving, and climbing. Everything really. Helps me get closer to the characters and the story. Ready for another round.

Cartwright never disappoints

And just will the search for Pillar 44 take us? CC is a gifted storyteller who always keeps his readers up late turning pages and forgetting that tomorrow is a work day!

The third temple

This is a good book.It is rather long,so pay attention while listening.SO many of his former adventures merge in this story that it leaves you breathless by the end! Fast paced fun. David Gilmore was a fine narrator.I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.
