Not Kellehers best

Characters were unlikable. Never found one I could route for. Lots of unanswered plot lines.

An intense and compelling read

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

For sure!! This was an extremely dark and disturbing read; the topic of sexual slavery is never an easy one, but a very real issue in today's world and I applaud the author for writing about it in such a frank way.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Saskia Frost!! Lena Cona was an amazing woman too!! These women could not have come from more different background but neither of the would back down when push cam to shove!!

What does Alison Campbell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her voice absolutely captivated me!! I loved the story and I think 50% of that was her!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sexual slavery is real and anyone can be Taken

Any additional comments?

There are multiple storylines to follow here; we have two female lead characters who form a bond over their being forced into lifestyles where they are controlled, plus a graveyard worker who seems unrelated in the beginning. I love how the author kept us guessing until the precise moment she decided to reveal how all the characters were tied together; behind the scenes she has woven them piece by piece in a way the reader is unaware of until looking back once the book is finished. The story completely messed with my mind and kept me guessing until the very end.

I felt like I was getting whiplash turning back and forth so quickly. The story is interesting, but there is so much action that there really isn't a good place to set the book aside; you might as well just carve out a really long night to read the entire book in one sitting and plan to call in sick to work. If you are into this type of thriller and can stomach the intense, dark stuff, pick this one up asap! I can't recommend it highly enough and I'm glad to have found another "must read" author to add to my list!

And the award goes to..............

What made the experience of listening to The Taken the most enjoyable?

This is not the kind of book i ususually read, however i am so glad i did!!! not only was the stor yline fantastic, the highlight for me was the narration by Alison Campbell, absolutely top notch, the accents were awesome and she really made you feel for all of the characters

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Taken?

There is not one moment that stands out because it was an overall fantastic listen! however if i had to say, it would be the character of Lena, my heart went out to her all the way through the book

Which character – as performed by Alison Campbell – was your favourite?

I have to say, i loved Misty, and i think this is because of Alisons narration, she really bought the character to life, he accents were spot on and Misty made me smile

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes!!! and i nearly did!! i finished it in a day & half!! i could not put it down¬

Any additional comments?

fantastic listen, superb plot, believable characters and really made you think of the awful things people in this world have to go through! Bravo Casey Kellaher.

wow another great book and hard hitting storey

First of all i must say how much i enjoyed listening to this book who was narrated by Alison Campbell she played the characters brilliantly and all the accents where spot on a very easy listen. (i'm really fussy and sometime find it hard to enjoy the book if the narrator isn't good)

The book itself was brilliant too, its a hard hitting storey with lots of different characters each one with there part to play, all the characters came together in a fantastic storey with lots of twist and turns along the way, this is a brilliant read it literately had me hooked from start finish only bad thing is that i have finished it already and now have to wait for the next one from this author.
