Surprisingly Good!!!!

I really enjoyed this first book in the Case Lee series.
Considering this is also a debut novel I think the author did a fantastic job. This book is told in first person.
The protagonist (Case Lee) is former Delta. Living on a boat and off the grid. There's a bounty on him and his DELTA team members. He currently takes freelance jobs, primarily informational. He is introspective, has his own set of principles that include not taking jobs that require killing, however for self preservation or the lives of his former team members he will. Comradeship is of utmost importance.
There's a surprising scene involving a really great character (Bo) towards the end. Actually almost all the team members are pretty interesting. Each ONE occupying a different corner of the states.
This author fleshed out his characters and wrote a believable story.
Tim Dixon does an excellent job narrating.
This book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Not What I Expected

I honestly choose this book to fill time until one of my favorite authors had a new book out. I like the military, special- ops books, so thought "why not," with low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised to find myself fully engaged in birth the plot and the characters. Unlike many espionage novels, the characters in this story have depth and question their choices. I look forward to the next book in the series.

A different kind of novel!

I enjoyed The Suriname Job even though there was less action and suspense than expected. There is a lot of interesting introspection by protagonist Case Lee. Narration is excellent.

Started slow, but eventually picked up.

Not bad for a beginner in an oversaturated market for the genre. Will continue series.

Just a story

Good detail and legit vocabulary. Modest suspense; but too predictable. I was waiting for plot twists that just didn’t happen. Lee is just too “bulletproof” and his ever-present superiority became tedious.

A great book to put you to sleep

16 chapters in I gave up. I get character development, but at some point in an adventure book, the protagonist has to do something to advance the plot. This seems to be an eddy of moment by moment description of some case he is assigned to, with backflashes of his past. I still don't know what he is actually on a mission to do. The only epic event so far is the epic fail. I am by no means a book snob, but this one is horrible.

A Little Boring

There were some good parts to this book, but the author spent to much time on mundane things. He spend 2 hours of the book on a fly fishing and bird hunting adventure that had nothing to do with the story. The parts that got into the story was good, but it could have been about a 5 hour book rather than the length it was.

pretty slow for an action novel

Found it hard to stay interested in this story. the story seemed to ramble at times and then gloss over the battles or battle strategy. Despite the massive build up, I still found it hard to connect with the hero.
