surprisingly good

Recommended by a fellow mystery reader who told me not to be a snob about the title (smile). The book was a nice surprise with respect to a fresh idea. However, the content is a little disturbing. Nothing that hasn't been in the news in some way shape or form. I was a bit put off by the language probably because it centered on young tweens.

Overall a well written suspense/thriller not your same old serial killer story.

- Amazon Customer "I don't know about you, but why are there so so so many 5 star reviews. I LOVE books, but so few are 5 star."

Surprisingly good

This was a total surprise. I had been put off by the cover and the title for some time, but as it was part of Kindle Unlimited, I finally decided to give it a go. It turned out to be a really well written, engaging crime / police procedural. It introduces Detective Jackson, father of a teenage daughter and recently separated from his wife, who is called in to investigate a bombing at a Planned Parenthood clinic. Then the body of a teenage girl who had visited the clinic is found murdered. Is there a connection? This was well plotted, had believable characters, kept me engaged throughout and had enough twists to keep it from being predictable. A really interesting story! I am so glad I picked this up and will definitely read the other titles in this series.
The narration was ok, but could have been improved by differentiating the different characters' voices more.
