Agatha Christie's second novel, The Secret Adversary, set in London in 1919 is brought to sparkling new life by Audiofile Earphones Award-winning narrator Alison Larkin....

Tommy and Tuppence are charming, broke, and in desperate need of work. They decide to set up Young Adventurers Ltd. - "willing to do anything, go anywhere". They are soon caught up in a dastardly plot to overthrow the British government.

This fresh and "hugely entertaining" listen from the English American joined with Christie's brilliantly suspenseful storytelling results in a deliciously authentic audio experience.

Never better audio of Christie Mystery

I am a great fan of Agatha Christie but have never heard such a great audio of her greatest mystery.

Perhaps because Alison Larkin was raised in England. And maybe because she has been a successful actress her accents are wonderful--and so authentic.

Most important Larkin brings each character and each dramatic turn in this exciting story to new life!

I am certain Agatha Christie would be delighted that such a talented and perfect narrator has been found for her brilliant work!

BRILLIANT narration - Christie fans will love it!

Where does The Secret Adversary rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I love Agatha Christie and have listened to many of her books on audio. Alison Larkin's narration of this one was truly outstanding. I found it via a rave review in Publisher's Weekly and loved every minute. It's up among the best.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters of Tommy and Tuppence and the humor combined with a real sense of what it was like to live in London after World War 1.

Which character – as performed by Alison Larkin – was your favorite?

Tuppence!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. And I did. I listened to it on a long car drive and only stopped once for gas.

Alison Larkin is a superb narrator!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

A fun and lively performance, with good accents (especially the little boys). I hope that Alison Larkin will record the rest of the Tommy and Tuppence mysteries!

Must be just me

I'm wondering if i purchased a childrens mystery by mistake. This was like listening to a juvenile mystery, perhaps Agatha Christie wrote this when she was a mere teen??? The narrator's voice hurt my ears at times and in general annoyed me. This would be good reading if you like Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys. Recommend listening to a sample before purchasing

I adore Agatha Christie mysteries, so I dont know what went wrong here and I will presume it is me..this doesn't put me off of A.C., I just need to pay more attention to the summary and listen to a sample first.
