This series just gets better and better

I always learn something from these books, whether it's a great recipe, information about the French judicial system, or the history of the French resistance in World War II. The characters are engaging and growing deeper all the time. My only caveat is that I'm not crazy about the way the narrator does women's voices. He's handicapped – he's a man. It's not enough to keep me from listening to the next book, but I wish he would be a little less arch in his delivery. Otherwise, and altogether great read/listen.

High Hopes but Let Down

I have listened to Bruno mysteries before and I enjoy a complicated plot - when it is justified Sadly, this Bruno mystery uses too many unnecessary complications, seemingly to pad the story. Everything moves very slowly. Also, too many dinners described and too many bottles of wine poured Too many possible lovers for Bruno
Finally, the narrator reads too slowly, too little drama in his voice
