Too Much Brutality

I enjoy the author's stories, plot lines, characters, and action, but the brutality has been getting worse and worse, and I might be done with him because of it. He could make his point quite well in a fashion other than with prolonged graphic torture scenes. I do not care for Henry Strozier's voice and style. It's ponderous and unpleasant. The voice of Pike Logan is very good, and I would be happy to listen him narrate the entire book.

Another great Pike Logan thriller!

This is just a reminder to fans of Brad Taylor's wonderful Pike Logan series that Book 12 titled Operator Down will be released on January 9, 2018.

Grammar school clique fest

If you're looking for a good thriller skip this author. This book has a ridiculous storyline and is truly horribly written. I only finished this book because I wanted to give the author a chance thinking that maybe the book would get better as I went. Unfortunately it only got worse with an overly complicated plot and very little in the way of action or mystery. I found the story to be most propelled by nonsensical decisions by the characters the no person would make in real life. The only thing worse than the story was the dialogue. It was so full of clichés that I wanted to quit but pressed on. The best part of the book is when the reader said "The End". Extremely predictable with manufactured tension and pointless conversations full of stereotypical male machismo and female bumbling and ineptitude. Save yourself twelve hours and forty-two minutes of your life and skip this hunk of garbage.

Be afraid...be very afraid

Would you try another book from Brad Taylor and/or Henry Strozier?

Not a chance. There are only so many hours in a lifetime.

Any additional comments?

It was like teen fiction. Perhaps 'Twilight' for its' espionage equivalent. I have only ever stopped reading / listening to two books in my lifetime. This gem has the distinction of being the third.

The best of the best Pike Logan and his team!

Great book unique adventures and positively the best writing and narration. I do wish they would use a female voice for Jennifer! I'm a great fan of the series!

IF IT DON'T FIT DON'T FORCE IT

What made the experience of listening to The Polaris Protocol the most enjoyable?

The narrator and the action.

It's not that the narrator was that extraordinary and just knocked me clean off of my feet. It's just that I thought he had a voice that was perfect for this genre. Some narrators have voices that can seem like a character all by itself. Henry Strozier's narration didn't interfere with the story. I like that. It was perfect in a nondescript way.

And I really enjoy books that read like movies. There are some really good action sequences in this book and that's what kept me going.

Would you be willing to try another book from Brad Taylor? Why or why not?

Yes. I love a good series that allows me to really get to know the characters. I think I'd like to get to know Pike and Logan a little better.

Have you listened to any of Henry Strozier’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. This was my first.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

"Wanted to?" Not necessarily.

Could have? Possibly - while taking a nice long road trip.

Any additional comments?

This book was enjoyable. I only gave it three stars because the storyline felt forced. I'm not a fan of books where family members of secret government operatives end up involved in some sort of deadly international event that requires the operators to go off the grid trying to save their lives. Those story lines never feel real to me for some reason - probably just a matter of personal preference.

*POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT*

And then I have mixed feelings as to the likelihood of Pike and Logan being romantically involved in real life. On one hand, I can totally understand how two people can become attracted to each other in the workplace; most people spend at least eight hours of their day at work - some more than others. We interact constantly with our co-workers and pheromones are don't discriminate. I GET IT!

However, in Pike and Logan's line of work, I think its a bit of a stretch to think that a romantic relationship between a team leader and a subordinate would be so well received by the team members. I think its dangerous and a transfer would be in everybody's best interest.

one of my favorites!!. The airport bathroom scene had me laughing hysterically. Just a phenomenal job...

Darn good book!

A very enjoyable thriller top-notch all the way. The narrators are excellent not overstating things but just telling the story. I enjoyed this Pike Logan story the best of the five so far. If you're on the fence get off of it this is a good book, a really good book!

A good read

This was my first brad taylor book and I enjoyed it. somewhat of a parallel to Brad Pitt and the cussler books

Another outstanding piece of work. it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I can't wait for his next book
