I thought it would NEVER end. So disappointing from one of my all time favourite writers. Why I kept on waiting for things to get better I just don't know. I learned an important lesson with this one. "If it's boring and confusing, it's OK to stop listening.
The Parsifal Mosaic was ridiculously over complicated and at times almost impossible to comprehend. I've never used the re-wind button so much on an audio book. I was constantly trying to figure out what was going on and who that particular character was and was he a 'goody' or a 'baddie?'
I felt it was coming from an author who was being held prisoner somewhere and being forced to write on regardless of any consideration for the poor listener.
Unless you are struggling to get to sleep at night avoid this book like the plague.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely. Good complex story and keeps you reading!
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes, the chase was great to listen through.
Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favorite?
The foreign ones (Foreign as in not American). He is absolutely wonderful with his accents!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, the one where Haveloc had his knife to the man's eye on the forest floor. Scott did that part brilliantly!
This is one of the best books I've listened to. It is set during the heart of the Cold War and starts with the main character witnessing the assassination of his lover whom he believes has betrayed him and his country. He then quits the CIA and decides to tour Europe before taking up a teaching position. However his former profession won't let him go and before long he is thrust back into his former role not only to safe his life but also to safe his country.. This book is full of intrigue and so many twists and turns you'll be left guessing to the very end.

I use the audiobook service to keep me entertained and alert during my commute to work.
And this book certainly did the job perfectly. The plot is so ambitious and fast paced that you literally wait for the time to go fast that you know the next part of the story, yet the story is so good that you don't want the book to end. A must listen for all those thrill seekers.

I like Ludlum, I really do. But sometimes sifting through such LONG and TEDIOUS conversations just gets tiring. I sometimes find myself putting his books down, and then revisiting them at a later stage. This one though...I just can't get into it. I was 4 hours in, and was just done.
