This trilogy has promise

My 4 star rating of The One You Love is a bit generous, but the trilogy has promise. It was very late in the novel that I first guessed the identity of the bad guy. This is worthwhile suspense novel.

this book is terrible

none if the characters seem invested in their own fates. the cops seem to do all investigation by random guessing. for instance instead of checking a phone log to see if a guy had gotten a threatening phone call, they simply assume it is a bad dream.

the dialogue is totally unbelievable.

So Slooowwww. Abrupt Ending! Just glad its over.

I can't really say I enjoyed this book. It was so slow and went on and on. I am so glad its over.

I don't really even know how to review this book. It wasn't a romance mystery at all. It was just a mystery and a bad one at that. The story line and plot just dragged. It was like the author was desperately trying to make this such a mystery with twists and secrets that it became just boring and annoying. You just wanted it to end, and when it did, it was THE END, very abrupt. Like the author wants you to get the next book to find out all the things that happened to Dan. Well, I don't care. So no thanks.

There is lots of dialogue throughout the entire book, actually it was mostly dialogue. I love lots of dialogue. However, the conversations were written in a choppy, in-circles type of way that was just annoying. The author was trying so hard at not wanting you to figure anything out, that the entire story suffered.

I cannot recommend this book.

I can recommend the narrator. I really enjoy Fiona Hardingham. She does have a british accent. And at times it is thick depending on the character. Her cockney accent is very good. Some people complain about her accent but I like it. She does a good job with the mens voices and she has a very nice reading voice. The narrator is the only reason I finished this book.

I got this on amazon for free and the whispersync for 1.99. Glad I didn't spend any more than that on this poorly written book.

First audible book

What disappointed you about The One You Love?

It was my first try at audible and it was read with a heavy accent. I could not switch from hearing to reading. Never got past the first 30 pages. Shouldn't be recommended to first time buyers.

Would you ever listen to anything by Paul Pilkington again?

Don't know. Haven't tried again.

Excellent

Good storyline maybe a little predictable, but I would recommend it to a friend. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Not a bad story, but not great either

This book just wasn't written as well as the last few books I've read/listened to. The character development wasn't strong nor were the characters very relatable.

Read it

Worth a read- I hate writing reviews! You are dictated to write more words than are necessary. Won't do another one.

Wow!

This book was captivating from the start. I loved the story line. lots of twists and turns and not a very predictable ending. That is important to me. It was suspenseful throughout the entire book. I loved it! The author did a great job as well as the narrator. Thank you, great job!

I really enjoyed this book. It did get a bit predictable once in awhile,it then it would throw you for a loop.

I don't usually read Mysteries, but I think I will try another one, because I really liked this one. It was thrilling, interesting and kept me guessing.
