Publisher's Summary

The unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of The Navigator, Clive Cussler and Paul Kemprecos's fast-moving action adventure from the NUMA Files novels. Read by the award winning narrator Scott Brick.
Years ago, an ancient Phoenician statue known as the Navigator was stolen from the Baghdad museum, and there are men who would do anything to get their hands on it. Their first victim is a crooked antiquities dealer, murdered in cold blood. Their second, very nearly, is a UN investigator who, were it not for the timely assistance of Kurt Austin and Zavala, would now be at the bottom of a watery grave. What's so special about this statue? Austin wonders. The search for answers will take the NUMA team on an astonishing odyssey through time and space, one that encompasses no less than the lost treasures of King Solomon, a mysterious packet of documents personally encoded by Thomas Jefferson, and a top-secret scientific project that could change the world forever. And that's before the surprises really begin....

Good break into the Numa Files

This is my first taste of the Numa files after reading the Dirk Pitt series. Same flare and excitement but you can listen to these stories around the kids.. The stories are believable and not too far fetched. The violence and language is enough to give it an edge but not gratuitous. The story moves with a solid pace and has you asking what is history and what came from the imagination but with plot twists enough to keep you more than interested.

Sadly only ok

Not sure what happened to this book,
Every time I started to enjoy the story it would just go a little to far.
The bad guy is a bit OTT and very predictable.
I really want to like this book more but unfortunately there was just a bit too much swashbuckling in some parts plus some parts seemed to be forced and really didn't need to be in this story.
It could of been a lot better and lacks the suspense and flow of the authors other books.
Don't get me wrong the story starts out great but from about half way through for me it just starts to deteriorate and gets almost childish, like it was written for a much younger audience.
To sum it up, starts out good gets a bit swashbuckling then drags out and the story drops off with a quick ending that lacked suspense.
It just about kept me entertained but I felt a little disappointed after such a good start to the story, sadly I won't be in a hurry to read further instalments
