Publisher's summary

Whispering Gulch isn't much of a town. Didn't even have a boot hill like Tombstone. On a dusty day, near the end of the 19th century, a Pinkerton man arrives in Whispering Gulch on a wandering daughter case. Hired by the wealthy father who'd received letters from his daughter postmarked "Whispering Gulch", the Pinkerton man shows a photo around. Several old timers claim this could be the "nekked lady". Could this be a prank? Were the old timers leading him out into the desert to leave him? When an angelic blonde lady steps out of her dress to bathe in the gulch, well, it's no joke anymore.

Lust turns to love and the Pinkerton man has his wandering daughter. Or does he?

A great author/narrator combo

Very enjoyable short story. Rich and true in historical detail. Would of like to known more about what happened to remaining characters. Narrator was entertaining. Minus sound effects, it was reminiscent of an old western radio program. Would definitely turn in next week.

Pulled into the Past

Any additional comments?

I always love a good western and this mystery story set in the old west was so nice to hear. I’m no stranger to O’Neil De Noux’s writing (mysteries and historical fiction) and liked this story when I first read it. The audio version gives it a different feel, like I found a lost recording of a heartfelt yarn. Mr. Dzwonkowski’s voice is perfect for this story.

A Mystery with a Romantic Twist

Though there is indeed a mystery to be solved, the story soon becomes a poignant romance rather than an action packed shoot-em-up as so many mysteries seem to do. Well written and nicely performed, The Naked Lady will certainly capture your attention.

Good Story

Where does The Naked Lady of Whispering Gulch rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's my first book.

What other book might you compare The Naked Lady of Whispering Gulch to and why?

I don't know.

Which character – as performed by John Dzwonkowski – was your favorite?

The Pinkerton character.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I don't know.

Any additional comments?

John Dzwonkowski's narration was excellent. Terrific story by an obviously seasoned writer, but it was so cool how the narrator brought every character alive with dynamic emotions. Thanks.

Good story, well written and narrated

I loved this story. O'Neil does a great job of giving details to set the scene for you. It took me by surprise on a few different occasions. Narrator really for the part.

Western Mystery with a Twist

What made the experience of listening to The Naked Lady of Whispering Gulch the most enjoyable?

John Dzwonkowski was able to really bring the characters O'Neil De Noux created to life.

What did you like best about this story?

The way Mr. De Noux's writing pulls you into each scene, whether it is making you feel the dry dusty heat of the desert or the way Mr. Dzwonkowski's performance of the characters make them seem so real.

Which character – as performed by John Dzwonkowski – was your favorite?

I think it might be Paula, she showed a strength and determination to be her own person, no matter what.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A Western Mystery with a Twist

Any additional comments?

I wondered if the narrator could pull this off and he sure did. The teaming of O’Neil De Noux’s writing and John Dzwonkowski’s reading of the story makes it even better than when I read it. The narration is so well done, I had to listen to it twice. The Pinkerton Man’s pursuit of a missing woman draws surprising twists and packs emotion with a twist ending. No wonder it was published in a big magazine like ELLERY QUEEN.
