The New York Times best-selling author of Cold Blooded and Hot Blooded, Lisa Jackson returns with a bone-chilling new book that begins with a gruesome scene—a woman awakens trapped inside a coffin with a rotting body! Surely, this must be the work of the Graverobber, a sinister Savannah, Georgia serial killer named for his macabre methods of execution. Narrator ruins book

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I enjoyed the book but the reader made it unpleasant.

Would you be willing to try another one of Cristine McMurdo-Wallis’s performances?

No! I will skip anything that she is listed as the reader.

Any additional comments?

The reader sounded like she was eating the whole time she was reading. I could hear her breathing and swallowing throughout. She didn't use different "voices" for the different characters.

Chewing gum???

Honestly, I’m not even done with the book. I just had to write a review to warn people. I can’t even tell you at this point what I’ve listened to, I’m so distracted by the narrator i can’t concentrate on the story. The narrator- let’s just put aside her 5 pack a day smoker’s voice, which is difficult in and of itself but what is driving me bat sh*t crazy is the fact that every character sounds like they are chewing gum. So, I’m trying to listen to the story but find myself more focused on figuring out if she has gum in her mouth, maybe for the purpose of keeping her throat wet so she doesn’t start hacking up a lung, or does she have an over abundance of saliva that she has a hard time swallowing. By the time I realize that I’ve zone out of the story and am more focused on the narrator, I’ve missed a bunch of the book.
It’s extremely distracting and I don’t know if I’ll be able to even finish the book.
