Would you try another book from John Grisham and/or Dennis Boutsikaris?
It's hard to believe that John Grisham was willing to put his name on this book and sell it. It's as though someone took all of Grisham's hallmark (and now cliched) characters and plot lines and mashed them together in a meandering, pointless narrative only absent the excitement. This one has the "ominous, controlling mega-law-firm," the "slimy and slightly dumb injury lawyers," the "cantankerous old judge" and, of course, the "bright, young associate looking to break free of his lawyerly existence." This book is filled with the worst stereotypical characters from any legal thriller and, worse, it's hard to even know for whom you are supposed to be rooting. Grisham imbues everyone involved with terrible motives. The production value of the audio book was fine. The story, however, was horrible. Hard to say that I'll go back to Grisham again after this travesty.
Would you consider the audio edition of The Litigators to be better than the print version?
I listened to the abridged version (in the car, while traveling) so some of the story's development may have been removed. The plot was intriguing and the story moved quickly enough; I would recommend to other readers who enjoy John Grisham but I didn't think the selection was one of his best books.
