Publisher's summary

When someone starts assassinating paparazzi in three countries, Mi7 sits up. Apparently, the killer is none other than Dmitri Vassyli Kramski, retired field-operative and former Kremlin protégé. Kramski's trail leads deep into London's émigré community, forcing his pursuers into conflict with an unknown organization bent on protecting him. Bit by bit, he begins to look less like a professional assassin and more like someone plotting to scupper the foundations of Western democracy itself. To compound matters, the Russians are as baffled by him as anyone.

Fast passe political action

What made the experience of listening to The Kramski Case the most enjoyable?

It was a well balanced story, with action, political intrigues, murder, comedy, individuals with personalities and some romantic relationships.

Would you be willing to try another book from J. J. Ward? Why or why not?

Yes, realistic, intelligent and engaging with well developed individual characters. Well observed and described situations. I could recommend a simpler story line, all the twists was just a bit overwhelming for me.

What does Fiona Thraille bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Just the right amount of ascents and character voices, not detracting from the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was very engaging. I did not always follow the political agendas, but it did not hinder me following the story line.

Any additional comments?

I recommend this book and will listen more from the author. "This audio book was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review."

Good characters

James Ward is a TikTok I follow because he has great book reviews on it. For that reason, I gave the Kramski Case a chance.

I have not read many spy thriller books in a long time. I got bored of the wooden good and evil characters. The Kramski Case has real characters. I loved that. Even better is that it has good discussion risks to democracy. On the other side there a bunch of cliches, that can be seen as tough and cheek or hackney... Liked that is was not too serious.

JJ Ward is not JR Ward

This is a significant difference... This title by J. J. Ward and narrated with a gifted performance by Fiona Thraille, is a gripping thriller. Tho I've not read JR Ward it appears to be a different genre.
