Recycled ideas. Derivitive plot. No tension

Seems like they dug into the plot bucket and pulled out a few at random and gave them a PR worthy setting - the Rio Olympics. Hey, the Olympics worked 4 years ago, let's do it again. Problem is they cherry-picked plot points and personalities from past Patterson books. Has the worlds most prolific writer run out of ideas? It seems so here. Maybe he saves the fresh stuff for Alex Cross?
