Lacked depth or plot structure

Lots of potential, but never went anywhere. Moved very slowly, without smooth transitions between each character's experiences. Had a hard time finishing the book.

A lot of action but overall uneventful

Narration is great in this series, and this book was no different. That is fortunate, as this particular installment would have otherwise really been a bit of a flop. It seemed so disorganized, and the character development and continuity within story seemed very inconsistent. It was not horrible, but his previous work must have really set a high bar and this just did not live up to the previous. Plausibility, even by fictional standards, seemed more in line with lower tier authors.

I will continue to follow the series and just hope the next round is better.
