Publisher's Summary

Victor is the ultimate predator. He surfaces to kill, then disappears into thin air. But he's a disposable commodity for the powerful people he works for - both the good guys and the bad. And no one has his back. Especially now that doing black bag jobs for the CIA has put a target on his head....
Antonio Alvarez, a high-ranking US intelligence official, is determined to clean house and find the legendary killer who slipped away from him during an operation in Paris. There's only one person Victor can turn to for help: a lethal female assassin whose life he once saved. And now Victor wants her to return the favor - by killing him....

Victor - my favorite bad boy assassin!

Victor - he's the best of the bad boys.
Raven is a woman who is almost as bad.
So, this book picks up where the last book left off. For anyone who doesn't remember or you've never listened to the last book, Victor had been working with someone. In the end he realized she was going to kill him and he poisoned her instead. She convinced him that she was worth saving and he tells her that if she is very fast and gets to a hospital ASAP she can be saved.
This book picks up with someone trying to kill Victor and someone trying to kill Raven while she is weak and still in the hospital.
Anyway, both Victor and Raven are very analytical assassins who need favors from each other. The circumstances are complex and the stakes are their lives. Can you guess who will be hmmmm... Victor-ious?
Although each of the Victor books can be read as a stand alone, I would recommend reading them in order because of the progression of this character.
Rob Shapiro is as always an OUTSTANDING narrator. I sincerely hope he and Victor continue to be a team.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!!!

Cabernet and Almonds ...

This audiobook combines a fast-paced, very well-written tale of murder and suspense with one of the best narrators in the business. I had never before heard of Tom Wood or Rob Shapiro; I just took a chance because I needed to quickly select an audiobook for a trip. Wow, what a pair: Woods and Shapiro! Like a good cabernet and dark-chocolate almonds, I'm going in for seconds on these two!
