Love the book, dislike this reading

This is my favorite book. I've read it a million times. I finally decided to have it read to me and I am super disappointed that the reader skipped over a lot of character building, scene setting, and important information to the story. I had to stop listening as it was so bad. I love this book but really hate this audio version.
