Publisher's Summary

The No. 1 Sunday Times best-seller and WHSmith Book of the Year 2016
People are capable of almost anything.
Fast-paced and addictive, The Couple Next Door announces a major new talent in thriller writing.
You never know what's happening on the other side of the wall.
Your neighbour told you that she didn't want your six-month-old daughter at the dinner party. Nothing personal, she just couldn't stand her crying.
Your husband said it would be fine. After all, you live only next door. You'll have the baby monitor, and you'll take it in turns to go back every half hour.
Your daughter was sleeping when you checked on her last. But now, as you race up the stairs in your deathly quiet house, your worst fears are realised. She's gone.
You've never had to call the police before. But now they're in your home, and who knows what they'll find there.
What would you be capable of when pushed past your limit?

I could not put this reading down, what an excellent book in all ways, suspense, narration, story everything, loved it from start to end, looking so forward to the next book.

Repetitive and boring

The characters in this book made me want to bash my own head in. So repetitive, nothing new happens until the last chapter.

Excellent

I have no idea why anyone would give this a bad review! Each to their own I supose. I thought this plot was top notch. Lots of twists and a few red herrings. Very clever. Kept me hooked from the very start, and couldnt stop listening. Narrator excellent too. No trouble in understanding her, she read beautifully. No hesitation in giving whole package 5 stars.

Predictable and implausible

Two dimensional characters, weak plot and totally predictable pretty much from third chapter.
Impossible to like or empathise with any of the characters.
Pleasant narration the only plus

Corny

I thought this story was too contrived. It was obvious who the baddie would turn out to be. The author tried too hard to write a thriller but I wasn't thrilled.
