My second listen as thrilling as my first!

Would I listen to “The Blissfully Dead” again? Why, yes, I did and it was as suspenseful as the first time several years ago.
What did I like best about this story? The extremely complex between the detective and his wife, as well as the murder storyline. These kept my interest. This book held my interest and kept me wanting more.
Have I listened to any of Simon Mattacks’ other performances before and how does this one compare? Yes and, as always, perfection!
Did I have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make me laugh or cry? Both, there is quite a bit of humor, along with serious police procedure and detective mystery thar the narrator excellently provides us with.
Considering that I listened two times, I am HIGHLY RECOMMENDING this one. Kept my attention, never a dull moment, surprises throughout. Worth a treasured credit!

Excellent, Timely Thriller!

Well written with interesting characters. I am happy to find this series. There is an authors note at the end that made me appreciate the novel even more. Recommended to fans of Val McDermid.

Really enjoyed this book!

This book is not a book written for young adults. That's what I thought, when I read the synopsis. I bought it when I read it was not a teen book, which someone was kind enough to put in their review. It's the first book I've been hooked by in a long time. I enjoyed the mystery and would read another book by these authors. I live in Texas, but love books set in England. It always amazes me when the police don't carry a gun into a sticky situation. Very different culture, and I love a British mystery.

Not a Critic

I cannot put these books down.
l am not a critic or a writer as a person can tell. I do know what I like and as quickly as l finish one I am listening to the next. I was amazed how these two authors put together great thrillers/mysteries. Try to start on a weekend! It's truly an all nighter!

Love The Cure references!

If you are a past/present fan of The Cure, you’ll smile at all the references in this story. The lead detective is a huge fan, and the title of this story is taken by one of the band’s songs. While this wasn’t my favorite storyline from Mark Edwards, it did keep me guessing until the end. The narrator was outstanding!

Narrator was wonderful

The book was predictable but we'll written. I read the last book they wrote together and really enjoyed the detective character. Happy to see him reappear. I could listen to the narrator forever.
