What did you love best about The Blissfully Dead?
I thought the overall story line was going to be boring and too teenage like, but I was delightfully surprised. I liked and was intrigued by all the twists & turns.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I liked Carmella's character. She was a strong woman who added a great deal of character to the story.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I couldn't stop listening to this book!!!

The second in the DI Patrick Lennon and Carmella series. An exciting and fast moving thriller about the dangers of social media and young girls. Although if the behavior of friends and neighbors is any example, social media can be pretty damaging to persons of any age.
It broke my heart to see how easily these young girls were misled into believing that a person they could only fantasise (in reality), about could want to meet them in out of the way places...and alone...of course.
I found the part about the boy band interesting as well. My knowledge of the music industry is more of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, so I was interested to learn that these young men apparently didn't even know one another before becoming a band from some talent show. The characters of the manager, promoter and various hangers-on were familiar though.
This book was more tightly written than the first one. Not so much wandering about lost. The characters are real and believable with good back stories and interesting relationships.
Simon Mattacks was outstanding with the delivery of the story

I was so keen to keep hearing this story that every moment that wasn't filled was taken up with listening to my audiobook. I really enjoyed the narrator, the pace of the book and the storyline was really clever. Recommended...

Any additional comments?
This is a really well written and unusual story. The characters are very well drawn. I love DCI Patrick Lennon, a very human, flawed and likeable character. This is the second in a series of books featuring Lennon. The authors say there will be more. I do wish the other 4 books by Edwards and Voss would be produced in audio format.
