Absolutely great
Swimming with Sharks is a very enjoyable read. This is the story of Nicola, a 42year old unmarried librarian who goes on her first-ever real vacation to the Maldives after receiving an inheritance from an elderly aunt. In the vein of new experiences, she finds her Prince Charming on the beach, and is out of her element in more ways than one. UK detective Gillian Marsh is undergoing her own life crisis -with her 18-year old daughter traveling the world, DI Marsh is at loose ends. When Nicola vanishes off the paradise island and her absence is noted at home, DI Marsh is on a mission to discover what happened to Nicola.
I enjoyed this book from start to finish. The characters were fantastic, and I would love to read others in this series as I felt that I just didn't get enough of DI Marsh! Nicola is charming and naive, and makes the reader root for her happy ending. DI Marsh is smart, persistent and hilarious. Emma Fenney did an awesome job narrating the story, with pitch-perfect voicing of each character.
Suspenseful, engaging and a touch romantic, without falling into fairy-tale traps, this is a great book and I highly recommend it.
