Publisher's summary

If Emily has learned anything from her past as a 911 operator, it's to stay calm during stressful situations. But that's a tall order when one of her regulars, Georgia Treetor, goes missing. Georgia never skips morning cappuccinos with her knitting circle. Her pals fear the worst - especially Lois, a close friend who recently moved to town. As evening creeps in, Emily and the ladies search for Georgia at home. And they find her - murdered among a scattering of stale donuts....

Disturbingly, Georgia's demise coincides with the five-year anniversary of her son's murder, a case Emily's late detective husband failed to solve before his own sudden death. With Lois hiding secrets and an innocent man's life at stake, Emily's forced to revisit painful memories on her quest for answers.

Though someone's alibi is full of holes, only a sprinkling of clues have been left behind. And if Emily can't trace them back to a killer in time, her donut shop will end up permanently closed for business....

Enjoyable

I always like a good cozy mystery with an animal involved, but not in a personified way.

Cute Cozy Series Starter

I enjoyed this one - really liked the characters and the connection to law enforcement made some of the amateur sleuthing a little more believable than other cozies. It stuck to the usual cozy formula but the characters were fun and the donuts made me hungry! I’d like to get to know this crew.

Best book I’ve ever read

This book was by far my absolute favorite. It was never letting you go. It kept you going, and I just kept thinking all throughout the day. Overall, I give it five stars because you just get into the story and you feel like you’re in the story, and I love to think of who murdered and it’s just overall an amazing book. I would totally recommend it to anyone who loves a good murder mystery and it’s just an amazing book so I would totally recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good book me personally, I am not yet a teenager, but I love myself a good murder mystery and this is my fave and I hope that other people can use this review. to find a good book

Cute cop themed cozy

This was a cute cop/donut themed cozy mystery. I'm not sure if it was just so well written that I couldn't guess who the murderer was or that there just wasn't any actual clues until the last couple of chapters. Either way I only was fairly certain of who it wasn't until it started getting to the "run, girl, run" part.

Incomplete

This reads like an incomplete novel. The characters are flat and undeveloped. The concept of the story is okay but it's one dimensional and I didn't feel as if I knew the characters or their motivations. I won't be reading the next one.

Not a favorite

Didn’t care for the story Don’t want to offend the story teller but the books I’ve listened to so far ~ the storyteller adds a lot to the book and this one didn’t grab me
